Inaugural Super Nationals bag toss tourney has expanded field, title sponsor

BOONE, Iowa – The inaugural bag toss tourney planned at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s will have an expanded field as well as a title sponsor.  The initial field of 32 two-person teams filled up quickly and has been expanded to 48. Scorezit, a divi­sion of Wehrs Machine and Racing Products, takes on the title sponsor role for the Sunday, Sept. 1 tour­ney.  Entry fees are $30 per team and top four teams will receive shares of the 100 percent payback of that $1,440.  The first-place team goes home with $576 and a Scorezit scorekeeper. Second place is good for $432, third for $288 and fourth for $144.  Sorezit is The Ultimate Scorekeeper for backyard games. Pre-orders will be taken during the week on Manufacturers’ Row and a new website will launch in mid-September.  IMCA, Boone Speedway and MyRacePass will also give prizes to bag toss (aka cornhole) tour­ney competitors. Deery Series headlines opening night at IMCA Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – Opening night of the 2019 IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s brings the Deery Brothers Summer Series to Boone Speedway for the 49th time. The IMCA Late Model tour headlines the Monday, Sept. 2 program at Boone, in a main event that pays as much as $3,500 to win. Along with a guaranteed $2,000, the winner earns a Weekly Racing Bonus of as much as $1,500 based on their number of sanctioned starts this season, plus a wealth of contingency awards. Pit gates open at 9 a.m. and racing starts at 2 p.m. Also on the Labor Day card are qualifying races for Hobby Stocks and Northern SportMods. Deadline is tomorrow noon to register early for Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – The clock is ticking for drivers still planning to register early for the Sept. 2-7 IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Those who do so by noon on Thursday, Aug. 29 pay entries fees of $40 for Modi­fieds, $25 for Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks and Northern SportMods and $15 for Sport Compacts, and make themselves eligible for Weekly Racing Bonuses in their respective divisions. Modified, Stock Car, Hobby Stock and Northern SportMod drivers are also required to pre-regis­ter to reserve pit stalls and to compete in the Aug. 31 Prelude at Boone Speedway. Stephenville Starter makes heat wins pay off, continues Hobby Stock RoC title sponsorship

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Winning 10 or more heat races will pay off for one IMCA driver again this season, courtesy of Stephenville Starter. The Texas manufacturer and 11-year sponsor awards a starter to one randomly selected driver who meets that heat race win requirement and submits a photo of their car displaying use of two Dirt Defender mud covers. BOONE, Iowa – Dirt track racing heroes will be celebrated at an event that already has a Super Heroes theme. Boone Speedway hosts the 37th annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Ca­sey’s on Sept. 2-7. More than 600 drivers from across the United States, and from Canada and Australia as well, have already pre-entered. “Super Nationals is a bucket list event for most drivers,” IMCA President Brett Root said. “Qualify­ing for a 30- or 33-car feature field when there are 200-plus entries is an accomplishment most racers should hang their hat on.” Early Modified entry numbers have already topped 200 while Stock Car entries are nearing the division record 193 that competed at the 2015 Super Nationals. IMCA sponsors fill Manufacturers’ Row at Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – Nearly 40 vendors will be represented on Manufacturers’ Row during the upcom­ing IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.  IMCA sponsors will offer a wide range of high performance products for use during the week of Sept. 2-7. They’ll also display a variety of new products for use in IMCA competition in 2020. Inaugural Super Nationals BBQ Championship to determine another best at Boone Speedway

BOONE, Iowa – Every September, drivers from coast to coast and border to border converge on Boone Speedway to determine a champion at IMCA’s biggest event.  This year, Jacob Bartz hopes to get barbecue masters attending the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s to square off and determine a champion of their own.  Bartz has organized the first annual Super Nationals BBQ Championship, to be held Saturday, Sept. 7. “This is the best race in the United States, where you have drivers, fans and track owners from across the country,” said Bartz. “I want to see them enter barbecue from Oklahoma, from North Carolina and Minnesota, from all over. It would be great to get together while we’re there for the racing and do something else enjoyable.”  Contestants can prepare as many as three forms of meat (pork ribs, pulled pork and/or chicken) and must prepare enough food for five judges. Sunday bag toss tourney new at Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – Pride, bragging rights and shares of a $900-plus payout will be on the line in the Sunday, Sept. 1 bag toss tourney at Boone Speedway.  Entry fee for each of a maximum of 32 teams is $30, with the top four teams earning cash back at the conclusion of the inaugural, single elimination tourney. Entry forms will be posted online.  All money received as entry fees will be paid back and all teams must be comprised of two people, each with a direct tie to the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. “That means drivers, crew members, sponsors or campers,” explained Boone Speedway’s Coty Mallicoat. “No ringers.”  IMCA, Boone Speedway and MyRacePass will also give prizes to bag toss (aka cornhole) tourney competitors.  The tourney will start at approximately noon Sunday at a location near the east catwalk in the pit area during the Arnold Motor Supply Sunday Funday. Building on success, Berry to raise bar for Super Nationals

NEWBURG, N.D. – He’s already had a season full of career highlights, but Tom Berry Jr. will be looking to raise the bar again at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. “We’re going to go to Boone with the goal of making the show. Once you qualify, you can race hard and try to win the thing,” said Berry, from Newburg, N.D., and most recently winner of Han­cock County Speedway’s Night of 10,000 Stars IMCA Modified man event. “We’re already in the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational and are eligible to qualify for the Harris Auto Racing Race of Champi­ons. I think we’re going to have a pretty good week.” The Oregon native began racing in the Midwest in 2016.
