Porter parks in victory lane at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 8) – Chad Porter put his no. 12 MN 93 IMCA Modified in victory lane at Ar­lington Raceway for the first time since May 13 of 2017 Saturday night. Porter took the lead on the first lap after a caution that moved him up a row on the restart. When the green flag came back out, he passed three cars going into the first turn to take the lead. He remained the leader for the rest of the race with Trent Loverude directly behind him taking second ahead of Clint Hatlestad. Javen Ostermann won his first Alpha Media IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature, leading the en­tire caution-free race from start to finish. Anderson tops Arlington Modified main

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 1) – Saturday’s MN 93 IMCA Modified feature at Arlington Raceway was won by newcomer Cole Anderson, who took the lead on lap six and stayed in front to the checkers. Bill Johnson picked up another trophy in the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature. Michael Stien looked as though he was going to victory lane as he had quite a distance ahead of Johnson but Stien’s tire wore down and Johnson was able to take over the race with four laps to go. The B&B Chassis IMCA Stock Car feature saw Matt Schauer take charge following a restart and capture his first local checkers of the season. Matt Looft was the final leader in the Unhinged Pizza IMCA SportMod main that was contested right to the final lap and Cory Probst motored from 10th starting to win the Eckblad Trucking IMCA Hobby Stock feature. Eleventh starting Alex Dostal was the Coors Light IMCA Sport Com­pact winner.

Allen aces Arlington foes in Sprint Series of Minnesota

ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 25) – A former tour champion was back in victory lane following Saturday’s Sprint Series of Minnesota main event at Arlington Raceway.  Brandon Allen put on a passing clinic in topping the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature. Allen, the 2015 tour king, took charge after an early restart, checking out of the rest of the 17-car field before taking the win ahead of Neil Stevens and Billy Johnson. Clint Hatlestad won the MN 93 IMCA Modified feature and the B&B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car features saw Chad Schroeder hold off Matt Schauer for the checkers.  Cory Probst paced the Eckblad Trucking IMCA Hobby Stocks and 10th starting Eric Larson topped the Unhinged Pizza IMCA Northern SportMods. Zevenbergen repeats Schoknecht victory, Limoges wins big in Modifieds at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Sept. 29) – Arlington Raceway saw a repeat IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner in Elijah Zevenbergen while Tyler Limoges topped the IMCA Modified feature in Saturday’s season-ending Scott Schoknecht Shootout. Zevenbergen began his charge to the $4,000 Schoknecht checkers from way back in 10th starting. Five cautions came out on the 15th lap and Zevenbergen was able to capitalize on the final restart, motoring past Curt Lund for the lead. Hard charger contenders Matt Speckman and David Moriarty got in the mix, Speckman coming from 13th starting to third and ’B’ qualifier Moriarty from 18th starting to fourth. Zevenbergen held all challengers at bay for the big money, winning ahead of Lund, Speckman, Moriarty and Rick Mees. Mees picked up the hard charger bonus of $600 after passing 15 cars. Limoges led start to finish in the Modified feature to earn $2,000, the biggest payday in his racing career. Schoknecht Memorial is Saturday at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. – More than $20,000 has been added to IMCA Sunoco Stock Car and IMCA Modified purses for Saturday’s Schoknecht Memorial at Arlington Raceway. Stock Cars run for $4,000 to win and Modifieds for $2,000 to win their Sept. 29 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier. There’s also extra money to be paid to drivers in other classes during the season championship program, which also features IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts. Money added to the purse was donated by individuals and businesses in memory of Scott Schoknecht, a friend of many in the racing community who passed away unexpectedly last summer. The grandstand will open at 1:15 p.m. as go-kart heats begin at 1:30 p.m. and their features are at 3:30 p.m. The big track heats begin at 4 p.m. For additional information, check out the Arlington Raceway website or Facebook site. McCollum scores first Northern SportMod win

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 18) – A driver who has enjoyed considerable success over the years at Ar­lington Raceway found his way to victory lane Saturday night. Jeff McCollum prevailed in an IMCA Unhinged Pizza Northern SportMod feature that saw its fair share of cautions. The victory was the first in the class for McCollum, who owns 102 checkers in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car divisions as well as five Arlington track titles in the full-bodied division. First in the MN 93 IMCA Modified main went to Brandon Beckendorf. Trevor Serbus topped the 95.7 the Rock IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature and Matthew Schauer regained the lead with two laps left in winning the B & B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car main. Cory Probst was the Eckblad Trucking IMCA Hobby Stock winner and Bubba Brown led the dis­tance in the Coors Light IMCA Sport Compact contest.

Late charge by Larson leads to Sibley County Shootout checkers 

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 1) – Jeff Larson took the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers and was joined by Luke Sathoff and Matt Speckman as the big winners money-wise at Wednesday’s Sibley County Shootout. Larson made his move to the front with four laps left in the Arlington Raceway show, passing Sathoff and leading to the $1,500 checkers. Sathoff took second and his position was drawn for an extra $500 bonus from Sunoco NAPA of Arlington. Speckman also received a $500.00 bonus for his 10th place finish. Damon Murty, David Moriarty and Dean Cornelius rounded out the top five. Hard charger Shaun Bruns was sixth. Derek Green chased Sathoff early before falling out with mechanical problems. The only caution was on lap nine for a spun car and Larson, Murty and Moriarty were all on the move following the restart. LaTour triumphs at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 28) – Kevin LaTour won his first feature in the B&B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car division Saturday at Arlington Raceway, leading from start to finish in the green-to-checkered race. Matt Speckman started 10th and worked his way through the field to challenge LaTour but ended up second ahead of Chad Schroeder, who got by Brent Uecker on the last lap to take third. Brandon Beckendorf bested the MN 93 IMCA Modified field again and Trevor Serbus wheeled his 95.7 IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car around the topside of the track to win another feature. Matt Looft crossed the finish line first in the Unhinged Pizza IMCA Northern SportMod feature while Alex Dostal prevailed in the Coors Light IMCA Sport Compact main. Cory Probst scored another Eckblad Trucking IMCA Hobby Stock victory.

Arlington Raceway hosts Aug. 1 Sibley County Shootout special

ARLINGTON, Minn. – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars bat­tle it out for $1,500 to win and a minimum of $100 to start at Arlington Raceway’s Wednesday, Aug. 1 Sibley County Stock Car Shootout. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods run for $750 to win and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for a $400 top check that evening. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, re­gional, Minnesota State and local track points will be awarded at the draw/redraw show. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. Racing starts at 7 p.m. Grand­stand admission is $15 and pit passes are $30. Hewitt hauls home Arlington hardware

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 21) – Karl Hewitt Jr. clinched the Eckblad Trucking IMCA Hobby Stock feature Saturday at Arlington Raceway as he led from start to finish. Hewitt was challenged by Cory Probst for 11 of the 12 laps but on lap 10, Probst dived into turn one and spun himself around causing a caution flag. He restarted at the tail and in the following two laps was able to move up to fifth. That caution gave Brad Becker a little breathing room as he challenged Hewitt for the next two laps but had to settle for second ahead of Mike Christensen. Brandon Beckendorf was the MN 93 IMCA Modified winner and Trevor Serbus topped the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature by a straightaway. Rick Mees has gotten back and dirt and got his first B&B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car victory of the season. Matt Looft scored the Unhinged Pizza IMCA Northern SportMod victory and Scott Porter paced the Coors Light IMCA Sport Compact main.
