Arlington checkers are career first for Larsen

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 24) – Josh Larsen led the entire B&B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car feature to pick up his first career win in the class Saturday at Arlington Raceway. 

By the 18th lap, Larsen got a bit high in turn four as he was going around lapped traffic and slid off the track a bit but was able to recover and maintain his spot. Matt Speckman was working to challenge and got up to second before mechanical troubles putting him in the pit. 

After that, A.J. Zimmerman stayed right behind Larsen to take second ahead of Dan Mackenthun, who had started 10th.

The MN 93 IMCA Modifieds put on a flag-to-flag race with three-wide racing throughout the 20 laps. The fast car on the track was piloted by Tyler Limoges, who got around five cars in six laps to take over the front spot and stay there for the duration.

Trevor Serbus took home the trophy in the Alpha Media IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature while the Eckblad Trucking IMCA Hobby Stock feature again saw Cory Probst take the lead halfway through and lead to the finish. 

Tim Siercks prevailed in a 23-car Unhinged Pizza IMCA Northern SportMod tussle and Scott Porter was the Coors Light IMCA Sport Compact winner.

Late-race opportunity leads Zuhlsdorf to winner’s circle

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 15) – Opportunity knocked on the door late in the race Saturday night and Kris Zuhlsdorf answered. Mike Kennedy led the first 12 laps of the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature at Arlington Raceway but saw his advantage up front erased by a caution.  Zuhlsdorf capitalized, taking the lead following the ensuing restart and driving to the win. Dan Menk led from start to finish of the 20-lap feature for IMCA Modifieds and Michael Stien was the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car winner. Tenth starting Dan Mackenthun topped the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event.  National point leader Cory Probst paced the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks while Alan Lahr led the way to the Mach-1 Sport Compact checkers.

Arlington puts wraps on 2023 season with annual awards banquet

MORTON, Minn. (March 16, 2024) – The 2023 Arlington Raceway Awards Banquet was held at Jackpot Junction on March 16.  Perfect attendance awards were given out to drivers who participated in every event and the top 10 in each oval track division received awards sponsored by Hess Technology. Arlington Raceway hosts Aug. 1 Sibley County Shootout special

ARLINGTON, Minn. – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars bat­tle it out for $1,500 to win and a minimum of $100 to start at Arlington Raceway’s Wednesday, Aug. 1 Sibley County Stock Car Shootout. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods run for $750 to win and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for a $400 top check that evening. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, re­gional, Minnesota State and local track points will be awarded at the draw/redraw show. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. Racing starts at 7 p.m. Grand­stand admission is $15 and pit passes are $30.
