Hard charger Olson holds of Arlington Hobby Stock challengers

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 27) – Passing seven cars and taking the quick lead wasn’t even the most challenging part of Matt Olson’s run to the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers Saturday at Arlington Raceway.

Once in front, Olson had to hold off Jed Trebelhorn and then five-time and defending track cham­pion Cory Probst to stay there. 

Probst ended in second while Luke Trebelhorn got around his brother Jed to take third.

Tenth starting Zach Davis caught Matt Looft in the final turn for the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod victory and Bill Johnson led the last five circuits in a caution-free IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car contest. 

Brandon Beckendorf also started 10th, and won the IMCA Modified main event. Dan Mackenthun led start to finish in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main and Nate Coopman took the Mach-1 Sport Compact checkers.

Just like the movies, action at Arlington is fast and furious

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 22, 2023) – Action was fast, furious and competitive Saturday at Arlington Raceway. The IMCA Hobby Stock feature saw Scott Porter lead from the front row but a yellow came out for a spinning car which restarted the field nine laps in. With only four laps to go, Cory Probst once again pounced and got around both Taylor Manderfield and Porter to take the lead and win. Porter took second and Manderfield was third. Jason Bolte was the early leader starting up front in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature but the biggest battle was between Alan Lahr and Justin Dose for the positions directly behind him. Arlington puts wraps on 2023 season with annual awards banquet

MORTON, Minn. (March 16, 2024) – The 2023 Arlington Raceway Awards Banquet was held at Jackpot Junction on March 16.  Perfect attendance awards were given out to drivers who participated in every event and the top 10 in each oval track division received awards sponsored by Hess Technology. Beckendorf shines at Sibley County Shootout

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 2, 2023) – The Sibley County IMCA Sunoco Stock Car Shootout at the Arlington Raceway saw a fantastic field of cars and 45 stellar drivers competing for some big paydays. The largest paid out was to Brandon Beckendorf from Danube as he won $9,185 for his driving abilities. He had a clean sweep for the night, winning his heat race and $135 as well as leading every lap of the 30-lap race to earn $135 per lap plus the $5,000 to win top prize. His drawing partner found the right Frisbee as she drew the no. 2 spot, putting him on the outside of the front row of the 24-car field. Second row starter Jeffrey Larson got by Beckendorf early on but a yellow flag came out when three cars got tangled in turn three.
