IMCA Modified checkers fly at Arlington for Stinehart

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Sept. 19) – Todd Stinehart was the fourth and final leader in Saturday’s IMCA Modified feature at Arlington Raceway.

Rick Nelson paced the first four laps before he was forced pitside. Trent Loverude took over the top spot and built a commanding lead while Stinehart and Clint Hatlestad were fighting for second.

On lap 13, Loverude’s engine let loose and he exited the track giving the lead to Stinehart. Hat­lestad fought hard and took the lead on the 18th lap, then ran side-by-side with Stinehart the last two laps. 

As they were coming out of turn four, Hatlestad was a nose ahead, but Stinehart edged past him right before the checkered flag. Third went to Toby Patchen. 

Bill Johnson led from the sixth circuit to the finish of the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature and Chad Schroeder topped the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main.

Winner of the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock headliner was Cory Probst. Matt Looft led the way in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods.

The Mach-1 Sport Compact feature saw 24 cars start the race and Matt Speiss led all the laps except the ones that counted as he got caught up with Alan Lahr when Lahr was attempting to make a pass to take the lead.  Both ended up spinning out in an incident that gave the lead and eventually the win to Austin Frederiech.

Trebelhorn triumphs at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 10, 2023) – The wins are what you race for and Luke Trebelhorn raced to his IMCA Sunoco Stock Car first Saturday at Arlington Raceway. The second-year Stock Car driver started third, passed Mark Zimmerman on the seventh circuit and sailed to the checkers from that point, topping the 20-lapper in front of Dave Moriarty and Matthew Looft. “This is a tough class but that’s what makes it fun,” said Trebelhorn, who had a heat win and a couple top 10 finishes as a rookie last season. The car was sett up nice. Wins are what you strive for. Stien knows way to winner’s circle in Minnesota Sprint Series opener

ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 29) – Michael Stien’s latest Arlington Raceway feature win came on Saturday, opening night of the Minnesota IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Series. Nineteen cars were entered and Stien survived multiple cautions in the victory.  Trevor Serbus, who had started 12th, moved up to challenge Stien but had to settle for second ahead of Neil Stevens. Justin Allen and Troy Manteufel completed the top five.  Trent Loverude drove to his first local IMCA Modified win of the year ahead of Clint Hatlestad and Brandon Beckendorf.  The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature had 24 cars on the grid and three different leaders in the race. Matt Schauer led the first nine laps of the race from his front row start before the first caution was thrown. On the restart, A.J. Zimmerman got around Schauer and led the following three laps. Anderson tops Arlington Modified main

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 1) – Saturday’s MN 93 IMCA Modified feature at Arlington Raceway was won by newcomer Cole Anderson, who took the lead on lap six and stayed in front to the checkers. Bill Johnson picked up another trophy in the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature. Michael Stien looked as though he was going to victory lane as he had quite a distance ahead of Johnson but Stien’s tire wore down and Johnson was able to take over the race with four laps to go. The B&B Chassis IMCA Stock Car feature saw Matt Schauer take charge following a restart and capture his first local checkers of the season. Matt Looft was the final leader in the Unhinged Pizza IMCA SportMod main that was contested right to the final lap and Cory Probst motored from 10th starting to win the Eckblad Trucking IMCA Hobby Stock feature. Eleventh starting Alex Dostal was the Coors Light IMCA Sport Com­pact winner.
