Admission prices finalized for 2014 at Salina Speedway

By Dusty Wiegert SALINA, Kan. – As the racing season quickly approaches at Salina Speedway, admission prices for 2014 have been finalized and will save many fans money as they attend America’s Fast Track to Fun this year. General admission to the grandstand will now be an even $10 no matter what is racing, special events excluded. This is a change from the previous two seasons in which nights when Late Models competed admission was $12. Now adults will only need to pay $10 each week, a savings of nearly $50 per person over the season. Kids’ admission will continue to be free, but the ages have been adjusted slightly. Kids 15 and under will now always be free. Anyone 16 and up will need to purchase an adult ticket. Kids getting in for free will also need to accompany a paying adult when entering the Speedway or they will not be allowed to enter. There are new discounts for this year as well. 34 Raceway car show, kick off party March 15-16

WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa – 34 Raceway is gearing up for its 2014 season with the annual Midwest Performance & Power Westland Mall two-day car show and the Roederer’s kickoff party Saturday, March 15 and Sunday March 16. Racers in all divisions taking to the track this season will have their cars on display at Westland Mall during regular mall hours both days. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods new to BST Tour

First practice at Dodge City Raceway Park is April 5

The Arizona native and recent California transplant took the $750 checkers in his first night out in the Bill Henderson-owned Victory Circle ride. Cottage Grove Speedway schedule full of action from start to finish

Beatrice Spring Nationals postponed to March 21, 22

BEATRICE, Neb. (March 4) – Chalk up another early-season postponement due to too much winter and not enough spring. Spring Nationals at Beatrice Speedway will now be Friday and Saturday, March 21 and 22. The 21st annual special had originally been scheduled for March 14-15 The rescheduled program sports five sanctioned divisions, headlined by IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds in $2,000 to win, minimum $200 to start Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying features both nights. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods both race for $500 to win and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $400 to win each night. Minimum start money is $75. Practice sessions return to Willamette Speedway

(March 4) – For years, Friday nights at Willamette Speedway mostly meant a chance for drivers to shake down their car before the big race on Saturday, to fine tune their machines and troubleshoot any hiccups their mounts were giving them. Open practices are back on select dates at the historic 1/3-mile clay oval in 2014 after a couple years’ hiatus. “After not having practices for the last couple years, drivers started giving us feedback,” commented Track Manager Chris Nofziger. “They told us that they felt they would be more competitive if there was a night or two during the year where they could come out and just figure stuff out.
