Redline Racing Parts North Star Series returns to Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Sept. 11) – The Redline Racing Parts North Star Series returns to Arlington Raceway for a Saturday, Sept. 13 show. Touring IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts also vied at Arlington in their most recent North Star outing, on Aug. 9. Pit gates open at 2:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Hot laps are at 4:30 p.m. and racing starts at 5:30 p.m. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults and $5 for kids. Pit passes are $25. The Modified portion of the evening’s program doubles as the Jeff Rucks Memorial. Completing the card is the finale for the RaceSaver Sprint Series of Minnesota. Soares memorial service, celebration of life will be Sept. 14

PETALUMA, Calif. – Racers, sponsors, friends and fans are invited to a memorial service and celebration of life for Jim Soares this Sunday, Sept. 14 beginning at 2 p.m. in the Petaluma Speedway grandstands. Soares, 68, died Sunday, Sept. 7. He had promoted Petaluma and Merced Speedway. After the eulogy, anyone who would like to share a story or anecdote about Soares is invited to do so; anyone with a picture or memento is also encouraged to bring it for display. A catered barbeque will follow the service in the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds outdoor covered dining area located next to Herzog Hall. Side dishes would be appreciated. The front gate to the fairgrounds will be open so folks may come in behind the grandstand. The pit area will also be open. IMCA’s 2014 EQ Wild West Tour ends with Sweetwater twinbill

ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. – The final checkers fall this weekend for the eighth annual EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Tour. Traveling IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds are at Sweetwater Speedway for $1,000 to win, Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying events on Friday, Sept. 12 and Saturday, Sept. 13. GLYNDON, Minn. – IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds race for $1,000 to win on the final night of the season at Buffalo River Race Park. All applicable IMCA points will be awarded for Fargo Tractor IMCA Spectacular presented by Performance Auto shows on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 13 and 14. Modifieds chase a $750 top check on Saturday and earn a minimum of $100 by starting the main event both days. BILLINGS, Mont. (Sept. 9) – A pair of $1,000 to win features for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds are on the card this weekend at Billings Motorsports Park. Both Friday, Sept. 12 and Saturday, Sept. 13 Rebel Run races are 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers and pay a minimum of $100 to start. All IMCA points, including local track, will be awarded. Non-qualifiers will get tow money if there are more than 20 entries. Pit gates open at 3:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 6 p.m. both days. FARLEY, Iowa (Sept. 9) – Drivers in one IMCA special series contend for their biggest payday of the season while another tour comes to a conclusion this weekend during the 37th annual Yankee Dirt Track Classic at Farley Speedway. IMCA Late Models on the Deery Brothers Summer Series circuit race for $3,000 to win and a mini­mum of $300 to start on Friday, Sept. 12. The stakes are much higher for the Saturday, Sept. 13 tour event, a 100-lapper that pays a hefty $7,500 to win and a minimum of $500 to start.
