Hawkeye Dirt Tour set for Memorial Day opener at Vinton

VINTON, Iowa – Opening night for the seventh annual Hawkeye Dirt Tour brings Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds to their traditional home track on Memorial Day. The Monday, May 30 show marks the fifth occasion the tour has taken its first green flag of the season at Benton County Speedway. The Vinton oval was the site of the first-ever IMCA Modified event in 1979. In all, nine dates are on the 2016 tour schedule. Features pay a minimum of $1,000 to win and $150 to start, and will be qualifying events for 2016 or 2017 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballots. Van Gemmill saddles up to win another state championship in Oklahoma

PONCA CITY, Okla. – A driver who won an Allstar Performance state championship last season has already saddled up to win another state title this year. Van Gemmill became the oldest Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified driver to win a state crown at the age of 70, when he came out on top of the 2015 Oklahoma standings. Gemmill and Mo, a 19-year-old mare with press clippings of her own, were half of the team that topped the masters’ class at the Jan. 16-17 Ranch Sorting National Championship State Finals in Tulsa, Okla. Ranch sorting features two riders separating cattle in a designated numerical order from two pens and in a time period determined by the riders’ skill levels. Florida IMCA Modified driver wins Brinn transmission drawing

BAY CITY, Mich. – Jimmy McDaniel was the winner of the annual drawing for a new transmission courtesy of Brinn. The Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified driver from Milton, Fla., became eligible for that drawing through the Bay Area Emerald Coast Tour. He finished fourth in final point standings for the inaugural series. Brinn, of Bay City, Mich., will give $50 product certificates to top five place finishers at 30 IMCA special events again in 2016. Early season addition planned by IMCA Modified title sponsor Xtreme Motor Sports

GREAT BEND, Kan. – Business is booming for the title sponsor of IMCA’s Modified division. So much so, in fact, that Xtreme Motor Sports will add a 50×100-foot addition to its Great Bend, Kan., shop next month.
