Dubuque checkers make Kay first to repeat in IMCA Arnold Motor Supply Hawkeye Dirt Tour

DUBUQUE, Iowa (July 25) – Justin Kay’s drive to victory lane following the Arnold Motor Supply Hawkeye Dirt Tour feature at Dubuque Speedway started back home in the shop. Kay led the last 11 of 30 laps in winning the Tuesday IMCA Modified main event, on opening night of the county fair. The $1,200 tour victory was Kay’s career fourth, his second of the season and put him on the ballot for the 2018 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. “We made a bunch of changes in the shop. LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (July 22) – Ken Schrader still displays the victory lane check he received after winning the feature in his first visit to I-30 Speedway nine years ago. Now he’ll be able to show off a second such memento. Schrader topped a who’s who field of IMCA Modifieds in winning Saturday night’s Ed Jordan Memorial and $2,500 at Little Rock. IMCA focused on best event in Super Nationals history

BOONE, Iowa – Drivers and fans won’t see a lot of changes in the facility or the format when they pull into Boone Speedway for the Sept. 4-9 IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Long trip to Arlington pays off for Sprint winner Smith

(July 22) – Trevor Smith made the 2-1/2 hour trek to Arlington Raceway pay off, leading all 15 laps of Saturday’s 95.7 the Rock IMCA RaceSaver Sprint car feature for his career-first win in the division. IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Nationals has early entries from 11 states

EAGLE, Neb. – Entries for the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Nationals are already in hand from 11 states. More than 100 drivers are anticipated to compete at the fifth annual event Aug. 31-Sept. 3 at Eagle Raceway. Sprint Nationals begins with an open house and practice on Thursday, Aug. 31. The starting field of 27 will be determined through qualifying on Sept. 1 and 2 and in last-chance qualifying on Sept. 3. Sunday’s main event pays $2,500 to win and a minimum $1,250 to start, plus a generous number of contingency awards. Friday and Saturday qualifying features both pay $700 to win while Saturday’s Jake Ita Memorial pays $1,000 to win and a minimum of $100 to start. JEFFERSON, S.D. (July 23) – Jim Thies pulled away in the waning laps to win Sunday’s Total Motor IMCA Modified feature at Raceway Park. Jason Schneiders was a close second. Ricky Stephan, Justin Zeitner and Nick Lakes rounded out the top five. Hammond Motorsports has new awards for IMCA Modified, Northern SportMod specials

DeWITT, Iowa – A company that will ship to all 50 states and eight foreign countries looks to build its customer base even more with a new IMCA awards program. Hammond Motorsports of DeWitt, Iowa, gives $75 product certificates, good toward the purchase of a set of chassis set-up plates, to top five finishers at each of 45 IMCA Modified and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod special events. Point battles tighten at Lexington

By Anthony Ainslie LEXINGTON, Neb. (July 24) – Point battles continued to tighten Sunday at Lexington Raceway. David Murray Jr. led 19 of the 20 laps to add another IMCA Modified win to his resume. He took the lead on lap two after Charles Stryker led the opening lap and never looked back. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars were back in action and Mike Nichols led 15 of 20 laps en route to another feature victory. Cole Egge took early command of the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod main and led the first seven laps before Trent Roth took over with 13 laps to go. (July 22) – Albert Gill won the 20-lap IMCA Modified main event Saturday at Southern Oregon Speedway, becoming the fifth different winner in as many races at White City. Prior to the races, Gill declared that he is indeed racing for his third championship in the last four seasons. Preston Jones set the early pace in his bid for a first career win while Ray Kniffen Jr. ran second in front of Gill before spinning for a lap five caution flag. Three restarts later, Gill made his move on Jones with an inside pass on the back stretch. Gill maintained his lead through numerous late restarts and was a happy winner ahead of Matt Duste. Both the IMCA Modifieds and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods return on Aug. 12 as part of Hall of Fame Night.
