Integra continues unique awards program for Deery Series, IMCA Late Model drivers

COOPERSVILLE, Mich. – Drivers racing for national IMCA Late Model and Deery Brothers Summer Series points contend for unique awards given by Integra Racing Shocks. Drivers with the top two combined national and series point totals each receive $350 product certificates from the Coopersville, Mich., manufacturer and eight-year IMCA sponsor. Third and fourth place finishers in combined points each get $250 while fifth and sixth place drivers in combined points each receive $150 certificates. “With Deery events counting toward national points this season, it adds an intriguing wrinkle to the awards given by Integra to our Late Model drivers,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder commented. “I think it will be an even tighter race this season than we’ve seen for both championships and Integra will be there at the end to reward those drivers.” Nearly $10,000 worth of Integra certificates will be presented during the national awards banquet in November or mailed beginning the following week from the IMCA home office. Marshalltown postpones IMCA World Nationals

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (March 29) – Due to already wet track conditions, impending steady heavy rains today and colder temperatures not allowing for any track drying, Marshalltown Speedway officials have announced postponement of this weekend’s IMCA World Nationals special. “We feel it is best to postpone the World Nationals as conditions will not allow us to prep the track to the standards for which we are known,” explained Promoter Toby Kruse. “With that said, the World Nationals will be held Oct. 12-14.” “It’s a downer because there was so much interest in this event,” he added. “These are always tough decisions but they are made with the best interest of the racers, crews and fans in mind.” Plans are for the format to remain the same on the postponed date: IMCA Modifieds race for $10,000 to win and a minimum of $500 to start their 2018 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier. Two $1,000 to win features are slated for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods with a pair of $500 to win [Read More]

Bowers gasses up, sweeps Sunflower Classic Weekend

HAYS, Kan. (March 24-25) – The guy who ran out of gas on the way to the track for practice was the same IMCA Modified driver who ran away from everybody both nights of RPM Speedway’s Sunflower Classic. Steven Bowers Jr. topped $1,000 to win features Friday and Saturday at Hays and afterwards could laugh about the needle hitting empty on Thursday, half a mile from the gas station in Junction City. “I thought that night might have thrown a curve ball into the weekend. It was not a good way to start,” said Bowers, who made it to the pumps after friend who’d been waiting at the station delivered a can of gas. “But it turned out awesome. It was one of those deals where we would have been happy with a top five but came out with back-to-back wins.” The defending Kansas state champion and already on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, Bowers started sixth, passed Cody Gearhart for the lead on the second circuit and led to the finish of Friday’s [Read More]
