Fettinger returns to victory lane at Southern Oregon Speedway

By Don Martin II WHITE CITY, Ore. (July 7) – After taking the lead from Mark Wauge on lap 10, Zach Fettinger went on to win the 20-lap IMCA Modified main event Saturday at Southern Oregon Speedway. He won by a straightaway advantage at the checkered flag as Albert Gill settled for second. The feature had to be restarted after a lap one caution and that was the only yellow flag of the race. Wauge raced into the lead at the start, followed by Gill and Fettinger. Fettinger slipped past Gill for second on lap three, and the lead three cars ran in close formation at the front of the pack. A low move in turn two of the 10th lap put Fettinger into the lead and he was soon lapping slower cars. Knight shines in Lincoln County stop for URSS

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (July 7) – Tyler Knight took advantage of his front row starting position and held off Zach Chappell to claim the United Rebel Sprint Series’ first and only appearance of the season at Lincoln County Raceway on Saturday. Knight and Chappell started on the front row for the 20-lap Ron Williams/Dick “Snoose” Myers Memorial feature for IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars. Knight got the jump on Chappell as Zach Blurton, Jed Werner and Ty Williams gave chase. Chappell tried to keep pace with the leader but Knight went on to claim his first series victory of the season and become the seventh different series feature winner in as many events. Chappell came home second while Blurton settled for third. Coby Pearce was fourth while Werner rounded out the top five. Meyer goes flag to flag at Maquoketa

The Olin ace did that to perfection Saturday evening at Maquoketa Speedway during Kids Night, racing to a good advantage and hanging on in lapped traffic to win the 20-lap QCJeeps.com IMCA Modified feature. “I was hoping they weren’t going to be able to get around me,” Meyer said. “I was sticking to the bottom and letting the race run out.” Meyer took Doug Haack’s green flag from the pole and led every circuit despite the 3/8-mile, dirt oval blackened surface not the ideal track for his car. “It slows everything down a bit and we’ve struggled with our car on that. Schwope benefit this Friday at US 36

OSBORN, Mo. – Two dollars from each general admission ticket sold Friday night, July 13 at US 36 Raceway will be donated to the fund helping driver Eddie Schwope Jr. with medical expenses. Photographer Judy Staley and announcer Rick Staley have each made initial donations. A helmet will also be passed during intermission to raise money for Schwope.

Winner banks $2,500 at Hancock County’s IMCA Northern SportMod Nationals

BRITT, Iowa (July 10) – There’s a $2,500 check waiting for the winner of tonight’s Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod Nationals at Hancock County Speedway. The MaxYield Seed-sponsored special pays a minimum of $300 to start. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Iowa State, but no track points will be awarded. Top finishers from each heat advance to the $200 to win DeKalb/Asgrow Dash to determine their starting spots in the main event. The evening’s IMCA Modified feature pays $1,000 to win and is both a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot and Wehr’s Dash at the Harris Clash qualifier. Schulte wins first Sport Compact feature

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 8) – Ben Schulte led all 15 laps to score his first-ever win in the IMCA Sport Compacts Sunday at Outagamie Speedway. Tony Everard gave chase and ended in second. Cole Thomas completed the top three. Chas Van Ooyen took over the top spot on lap 13 on the way to the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car victory. Brandon Czarapata closed late but had to settle for second place pay and Jeremy Christians was third. Eugene Gregorich Sr. built a sizable advantage in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod main until Lucas Lamberies broke free of traffic. Monson wins fifth feature Kossuth County

By Greg Grabianowski ALGONA, Iowa (July 5) – Oliver Monson won his fifth Mach-1 Sport Compact feature of the season at Kossuth County Speedway to highlight a big night of dirt track racing on Thursday in front of a nice crowd that concluded with the city’s fireworks show. Monson grabbed the lead immediately and led the whole way in a race that went green, white, checkered. Seth Eischeid had his best run of the summer to capture second as Alex Dostal was third. Jesse Taylor took the top check at Lincoln County Raceway’s Wild West Challenge Friday evening, earning $1,200 for his IMCA Sunoco Stock Car victory. Last year’s IMCA Modified winner at North Platte, Taylor started on the outside of the second row and was among the cars jostling for position throughout the feature. He finally took the lead from Jason Rogers on the 16th lap and weathered a series of late cautions for the victory. Close behind was 10th starting Kyle Vanover. Rogers, Casey Woken and Justin Addison completed the top five. Peterson races to Dirt Dominator win at River Cities

Tyler Peterson picked up a thrilling win in the finals to punch his ticket to the $10,000-to-win Dirt Dominator finale at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco on Oct. 25. It was no easy drive to the finals for Peterson. The Hickson, N.D., driver was paired with Casey Arneson, who won the IMCA Modified feature earlier in the evening. After getting by Arneson, Peterson was paired with Marcus Tomlinson before facing weekly local foe Rob VanMil. Peterson snuck by VanMil to meet hometown hero Dustin Strand. Hanna racks up third Davenport win

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (July 6) – Chuck Hanna picked up his third Petersen Plumbing & Heating IMCA Late Model feature win of the season Friday at Davenport Speedway. Hanna blasted from his second row starting spot to the lead on lap one. Hanna led all 25 laps and at one point had a half lap lead over the rest of the field. Matt Ryan finished second with Andy Nezworski third. Nathan Hall picked up his first ever Eriksen Chevrolet IMCA Modified feature. Hall started on the pole and led every lap en route to the win.
