ST. ANDREWS WEST, Ont. – Kirkey Racing Fabrication has renewed an awards program recognizing the accomplishments of national champions in all eight IMCA divisions. The IMCA Modified national champion receives an 88 series layback containment seat while the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car national champion earns an 89 series containment seat. Road to the Iron Cup round 2 set June 23 at Park Jefferson

JEFFERSON, S.D. – A $1,000 to win Road to the Iron Cup feature event for IMCA Modifieds is on the Saturday, June 23 card at Park Jefferson Speedway. Jay Noteboom will also look to take the checkers and capture the second leg of the $25,000 Clean Sweep Sjogrensen Winery Bonus. Noteboom picked up the checkers in the first event held on May 26. The Modified feature is a qualifier for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Fettinger is fastest at Southern Oregon

(June 16) – Making a nice comeback from an early race crash, Zach Fettinger scored the 25-lap IMCA Modified main event victory Saturday night at Southern Oregon Speedway. Fettinger held off C.J. Putnam down the stretch for what would be his first win of the season despite restarting at the back of the field following the lap eight fracas. The frontrunners had come up on a slower car and while Andy Freeman got by, Mark Wauge and Fettinger both got caught up. Wauge suffered enough damage to end his race while Fettinger made a pit stop and was able to rejoin the back of the pack for the restart. Fettinger quickly found the fastest line and charged to the lead, and eventual win ahead of Putnam and Albert Gill. Braxton Possinger was flawless in leading start to finish of the 20-lap feature for Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods.

URSS readies for Colorado return

CALHAN, Colo. – After a huge weekend at the DCRP/URSS 305 Nationals in Dodge City, the Rebels will now set their sites on heading to the state of Colorado as they return this Saturday night to El Paso County Raceway in Calhan. A large contingent of drivers from Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma will converge on the ¼ mile D-shaped oval to meet up with a great field of cars from Colorado to vie for the $1,000 to win, minimum $200 to start feature. The last visit to the El Paso County Raceway was in 2014 when Jake Bubak topped a stellar field of 26 cars to take the victory and earn a $1,000 payday. Moyer scores Fan Appreciation Night win

By Jerry Mackey DUBUQUE, Iowa (June 17) – Sunday night racing action returned to the high-banked 3/8-mile dirt track on the Dubuque County Fairgrounds on Fan Appreciation Night. The final feature of the night was the Merfeld Brothers Auto IMCA Modified event. Austin Moyer shot to the front from his second row start, immediately took to the high side of the track and went on fight off the constant challenges from Matt Gansen to score the win in the 20-lapper. Moyer took the checkers a couple of car lengths ahead of Gansen. Mark Schulte made a late-race charge to take third. The Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature was in doubt right to the checkers as Jason Roth was able to overcome K.C. Daniel Wauters outran the hot weather and the competition to make it four straight checkered flags in the IMCA Hobby Sunoco Stocks Saturday evening during the Donna Heister Memorial. “What a night at Maquoketa Speedway,” Wauters said on Facebook. “Kids got plenty of ice cream from the Little Racers Car Club, got to ride around in the Batmobile, then we got our fourth straight feature win there. (June 16) – Taylor Caldwell made the most of a visit to his hometown of Stanton this past weekend, returning to his racing roots long enough to win the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature at Off Road Speedway, in a borrowed car. “I got out of racing for about nine years until this year and John Dunklau was nice enough to let me run his SportMod this season to get back in to it,’ said Caldwell, who lives and works in Liberty, Mo. “I was fortunate enough tonight to put it in the winner’s circle.” Caldwell took advantage of his starting position on the outside of the front row and took control of the race early on, winning handily ahead of Jeremy and Joey Haase. Clements notches first career victory

By Scott Owen SHAWANO, Wis. (June 16) – Second-generation racer Bryce Clements scored his first Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod career feature win Saturday night at Shawano Speedway. The win was an early Father’s Day gift for his dad Scott, a former local sportsman racer. Kaden Besaw led the early stages while Clements fell in line behind him. Clements used the outside line to his advantage to take the lead on lap three and Kyle Raddant soon began to battle Besaw for second. Raddant eventually would get past Besaw, as would Jordan Barkholtz. The race was marred by a series of late cautions but Clements survived every challenge. Multi-time track champion Eddie Muenster scored his first local IMCA Modified win of the year and Travis Van Straten brought home win number four in IMCA Sunoco Stock Car action.

Burnett is best at US 36

Burnett battled side-by-side with Matt lent for the front spot before edging ahead. Lent ended at the runner-up and third was Chris Wright. Chad Clancy picked up his second local IMCA Modified win of the season, holding off Shadren Turner for the checkers. Brad Whitney led every lap of the caution-free IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature and Tyler Drueke topped the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car main event.

(June 16) – Jake Martens survived a wild last lap to pocket more than $4,000 by winning Saturday’s Lubbock Wrecker Service DCRP vs. URSS 305 Sprint Car Nationals 30-lap championship feature at Dodge City Raceway Park. Martens took the lead away from Brian Herbert, then kept Chad Koch at bay before escaping a last-lap slider from Jake Bubak to pocket $4,040, an amount that included $1,040 in lap money along with the posted $3,000 IMCA RaceSaver Sprint car winner’s share. Martens raced to the stripe ahead of Koch and 15th starting Luke Cranston for the lucrative payday.
