Patience pays off for defending champ at US 36

OSBORN, Mo. (May 17) – Steven Clancy showed why he holds the top spot in Karl Kustoms North­ern SportMod point standings at US 36 Raceway Friday night.

The defending track champion waited through the early laps before picking up the pace and work­ing his way through the field. Midway through the race he got to the back bumper of race leader Coleman Browning.

He made the move for the lead and picked up win number three this year. Browning finished se­cond, while Chris Wright finished third. Matt Lent looked strong early but faded to fourth and Randy Smith Jr. rounded out the top five. 

Mike Nichols also showed patience as he worked his way through the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car field, then on the backside of halfway he moved around Mich Ross to take the lead. 

While Nichols checked out to take the win, Ross and Connor Masoner battled for second. Ross hung on for second with Masoner third. Alive Christofferson fought hard for a fourth place run in his first appearance of the season. Chad Clancy, also making his first appearance in a Stock Car this season, finished fifth.

Misfit Challenge features this weekend at US 36, Eagle

Bowers powers to Modified Madness checkers

By Rick Staley OSBORN, Mo. (May 27, 2022) – Steven Bowers Jr. took the final checkers of the evening in dominating fashion Friday at US 36 Raceway’s Modified Madness. Bowers, already Fast Shafts All Star Invitational qualifying eligible, swept the night as he dominated the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event, lapping all but the second-place contender on the way to the $1,100 win.  Jacob Hobscheidt kept close to Bowers to finish second with Josh Munsen third. Other IMCA winners during the evening at Osborn were Mike Nichols, Tim Eaton and Dillon Raffurty. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars never disappoint and this night would be no different as a blanket could cover the field of competitors doing battle.  Conner Masoner took the early lead with Randy Smith Jr. and Bubba Beam in pursuit. Nichols roared through the field and duked it out with Masoner before pulling away to career victory number 587 in the division. US 36 Raceway practice moved to Sunday

OSBORN, Mo. (March 31, 2022) – The US 36 Raceway practice scheduled for Saturday, April 2 has been moved to Sunday, April 3 from 1-5 p.m.  Better weather is in the forecast for Sunday, said track officials, and the extra day will also allow more time for track prep.
