Champ Pans designates awards for top 10 drivers in five IMCA divisions

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – A diverse group of IMCA drivers is in the running for awards from Champ Pans again in 2018. The Eau Claire, Wis., manufacturer again gives $50 product certificates to top 10 drivers in national point standings for the IMCA Modified, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMod divisions. “It has been a pleasure working with IMCA over the past six years and we are excited about our partnership to support fellow racers with our quality racing products,” said Champ Pans’ Jake Redetzke. “We have had a lot of positive feedback from the drivers that have received certificates. Poessnecker makes long-awaited return to victory lane

So his excitement was no surprise after his win in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature Saturday at Off Road Speedway. A family-comes-first decision in 2013, to establish a local business in his hometown of Atkinson, put Poessnecker’s racing career on hold for four years until this season. “It was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do,” he said. “But I needed to concentrate on my family and the business, a hometown body shop which I bought from my uncle.” So this rseason, with the business underway and with the help of Dale Bittner of Big Daddy Racing, Poessnecker – who began racing when he was 11 years old – is back on the racetrack. “I couldn’t have done it without Dale. Roth tops Dawson County Modifieds

By Kelly Ninas LEXINGTON, Neb. (Aug. 5) – Grabbing an early lead and never looking back, Anthony Roth scored another IMCA Modified feature victory Sunday at Dawson County Raceway. Roth had started from the inside of the third row. Working the bugs out of a new ride, David Murray Jr. found the groove that worked best during the second half of the feature event to earn a podium finish in second place overall. Recovering from an early incident, Chuck Stryker was third. Knocking on the door of 500 career wins in the class, Mike Nichols paced the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main while Luke Wassom’s fast start ultimately put him in victory lane at the conclusion of the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature. Working his magic during the final laps, Jacob Olmstead drove to the winner’s circle after winning the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod headliner.

Northstar IMCA Mod Tour set for Aug. 10-12

PRINCETON, Minn. – IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berths each night of the Aug. 10-12 Northstar IMCA Mod Tour. Both the Modifieds and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods are at Princeton Speedway on Friday, Aug. 10 and at North Central Speedway in Brainerd on Saturday, Aug. 11. On Saturday, Aug. 12, Modifieds are at Sheyenne Speedway in Lisbon, N.D. while the Northern SportMods are at Buffalo River Race Park in Glyndon. Modified features pay a minimum of $100 to start. Wednesday IMCA Modified winner at BVR earns $1,000

ALTA, Iowa – A top check of $1,000 along with a berth on the 2019 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot are at stake for IMCA Modifieds vying Wednesday at Buena Vista Raceway. The Modified portion of the Aug. 8 program at Alta is draw/redraw. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts complete the card. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, Iowa State and track points will be awarded. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:45 p.m. with racing to follow. Pit passes are $25. Early entries top 110 for IMCA Harris Clash at Deer Creek Speedway

SPRING VALLEY, Minn. – More than 110 IMCA Modified and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod drivers are now entered for the history-making Harris Clash. Deer Creek Speedway hosts the 27th annual event next Tuesday, Aug. 7. Modifieds will race for $3,000 to win, Northern SportMods for $1,000 to win when the first-ever IMCA-sanctioned event is held at the Spring Valley, Minn., oval. BRITT, Iowa – Three very rich nights of racing give the stars of the IMCA Modified division the opportunity to shine at Hancock County Speedway. SPENCER, Iowa – The Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights Tour event scheduled for tonight (Monday) at Clay County Fair Speedway has been rained out. The IMCA Modified tour finale will not be rescheduled. Red River Valley, Norman County host Sanders Modified Challenge Tour dates

WEST FARGO, N.D. – IMCA Modifieds take to the track in $1,300 to win, Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying features on both nights of the Sanders Modified Challenge Tour. Events Wednesday, Aug. 8 at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, N.D., and Thursday, Aug. 9 at Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn., are draw/redraw and pay $1,100 for second and $1,000 for third. Holladay adds Deery Series victory to record of LaSalle success

LASALLE, Ill. (Aug. 4) – The winner of the last One Night Stand main event became the winner of the first Deery Brothers Summer Series feature held at LaSalle Speedway. Chad Holladay made his way from fifth to first following one late restart, then held off hard charger Cayden Carter following a caution with three laps left in winning Saturday’s IMCA Late Model tour feature at the North Central Illinois oval. “I definitely did not want to see that last caution. I knew Cayden was right there,” said Holladay, $2,000 richer after his second series victory of the season. “He had run (and won) a really good Modified race right before but I was able to hold on and win by about a car length.” While Holladay made his way up from eighth starting, Carter had started 15th after running second in his ‘B’ feature.
