COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (May 2, 2026) — Jordan Henry prevailed in a hard-fought 25-lap Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod feature at Cottage Grove Speedway, earning his first win of the season after a race filled with intense battles and constant position changes.
Ricky Ashley, in the T.R. Points Trucking-provided No. 8511, won the race to the line on the opening lap ahead of Justin Morgan and quickly built a sizable advantage. Lapped traffic came into play by lap nine, allowing Morgan to close in while also holding off defending track champion Aaron Bloom.
Bloom moved into second on lap 11 and challenged for the lead, but contact between the front runners allowed Morgan to take over the top spot the next time around. Shortly after, 2023 track champion Henry found a way through and took command on lap 14.
Morgan fought back to briefly reclaim the lead, and Bloom made a bold move between the two before Henry edged back ahead at the line. A lap 20 caution reset the field, but Henry, from Roseburg, executed a clean restart and pulled away in the closing laps to secure the win after starting seventh.
Bloom finished second after starting 10th, while Ashley held on for third. Sixteen-year-old Mason King was fourth, followed by Morgan in fifth.
Williamson Charges Forward to Modified Victory
Kevin Williamson put together a strong mid-race surge to win the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature, earning his first win at the track this season and second DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region victory of 2026.
Five-time track champion Jake Mayden set the early pace, leading the opening laps and encountering traffic quickly. A caution on lap 12 gave him a clear track, but also brought the field back together.
On the restart, Williamson made his move. Driving the Superior Fuel Cells-owned No. 42, he advanced into the lead by lap 14 after a series of decisive passes.
Late-race traffic allowed 18-year-old Ian Whisler to close the gap, but Williamson remained steady and drove away in the final laps to secure the win. Whisler finished second after starting 10th, followed by Mayden in third. Aaron Sheelar was fourth, while Eric Ashley advanced from 13th to fifth. Whisler and Ashley shared hard charger honors.
Lancaster Gets Second Straight Sport Compact Victory
Rowen Lancaster was credited with his second Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact victory of the season following post-race inspection.
Tiffany Towns led early and maintained control through a lap one caution and restart. She held the point until Mark Delange moved to the high side and took over the lead on lap five.
Matthew Bangle made multiple bids for the top spot, with early passes negated by cautions before he secured the lead on lap six. He led the remainder of the race and crossed the line first.
Following inspection, Bangle was disqualified for a transmission infraction, awarding the win to 14-year-old Lancaster of Eugene. He advanced from 11th and also earned hard charger honors. Delange finished second, while Randy Kuhl edged 19-year-old Charles Trissell for third. Defending track champion Dusten Henderson completed the top five.
