Next step takes KMJ Performance to title sponsorship role for IMCA state program

STORY CITY, Iowa – A company that already ships thousands of orders weekly to drivers all across the country is the new title sponsor for one of IMCA’s broadest based and most popular awards programs. More than 100 drivers will earn KMJ Performance State Championships this season and receive their choice of a $200 gift certificate good toward the purchase of any four shock package, $250 off the purchase of any Victory or Assault chassis, or $50 off any parts purchase. Rain postpones Bud Shootout at U.S. 36 Raceway

OSBORN, Mo. (June 19) – Due to late morning rain, US 36 Raceway officials have canceled racing for June 19. With the threat for more storms later today and driver’s traveling from several different states, US 36 made the decision to cancel for tonight. The Bud Shootout featuring the Sprint Series of Nebraska is postponed to Friday, July 3. The Doyle Lance Remembrance Race for the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars is postponed to next Friday, June 26. The race pays $700 to win and $100 to start. In addition to the Doyle Lance Remembrance Race, up next at US 36 Raceway, Friday June 26, is the Weekly Racing Series featuring IMCA Modifieds, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars and Karl Kustoms SportMods.

300 Raceway pays $1,000 to June 24 IMCA Modified winner

Thornton does it all in third straight IMCA Clash at the Creek win

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (June 18) – Ricky Thornton Jr. proved he can do it all again Thursday night, winning a third straight Clash at the Creek for IMCA Modifieds at 141 Speedway. Thornton banked another $10,000 after making the seven-hour trip from home solo, then outrunning Terry Phillips and Mike Mullen in a fast-paced 50 lap main event. “It’s pretty awesome. 16 chassis builders enter Manufacturer’s Cup contest

VINTON, Iowa – Entries trend up again this season, as 16 chassis builders contend for national and regional honors in IMCA’s Manufacturer’s Cup contest. Standings are again based on makes of chassis driven by top 10 drivers in each region. 2020 champions will be determined based on points earned in each of the five Modified regions while the builder with the highest overall point total will be named IMCA’s national Manufacturer of the Year. URSS slated for Western Kansas doubleheader June 27, 28

COLBY, Kan. – The Mel Hambelton Ford Racing POWRi United Rebel Sprint Series is slated to take on a doubleheader weekend June 27 and 28. Lucas Oil POWRi United Rebel Sprint Series drivers will head to Thomas County Speedway in Colby, Kan., on Saturday, June 27. Racing is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. General admission is $15 with kids 12 and under free. On Sunday, June 28, competitors will head east on I-70 to WaKeeney Speedway complete the doubleheader weekend. With the Sprint Cars will be IMCA Kansas Thunder Racing Series Modifieds, Sports Mods, Stock Cars, and Hobby Stocks. Racing will begin at 6 p.m.. General admission is $15 with kids 12 and under free. Dodge City Raceway Park returns to racing this Saturday

After being put on hold for several weeks due to COVID-19 restrictions, the track is now back in action and expecting a large crowd for Saturday night’s opener that gets under way at 7:30 p.m. Saturday’s tilt is headlined by the Hobby Stock Roundup that offers up a $750 winner’s share in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock ranks with $75 to start the feature. Defending champ is latest Springfield winner

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (June 13) – Defending track champion James Thompson made a low groove move and then held back repeated charges from Dillion McCowan to capture his first IMCA Modified feature win of the season Saturday at The Quick Quarter of Springfield Raceway. Thompson got back on track after struggling in the first two races of the season. “We had some tough luck on opening night and last week we just flat missed it,” said Thompson, who became the third different winner in as many weeks at Springfield, following Ken Schrader and first-time winner Trevor Drake to the top of the podium. Alec Fett races to career highlight win at MaxYield Seed SportMod Nationals

By Chad Meyer BRITT, Iowa (June 16) – Alec Fett raced to a career highlight win Tuesday night, getting the best of Brian Osantowski at Hancock County Speedway’s MaxYield Seed SportMod Nationals. The $2,500 Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod victory came in a nailbiter as Fett had to race his way back to the front and outrun Osantowski and his brother Colby to the stripe. Fett had won the first heat and finished second in the dash, which put him in the preferred outside line of row for the initial start of the main event. Alec led by narrow margin with Colby on the low line. Osantowski had opted to not run the dash to save his car, forcing him to start 10th in the main, but by mid-point of the feature was challenging Alec Fett. IMCA Mountain States Tour visits Big Sky, Sheridan Speedway

BILLINGS, Mont. – Two $1,000 to win, Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying events are on the schedule during the upcoming Mountain States Tour for IMCA Modifieds. Big Sky Speedway at Billings Mont., hosts Friday and Saturday, June 26 and 27 shows. Sheridan Speedway in Wyoming is the site of Sunday and Monday, June 28 and 29 events. Opening night races at each track pay $600 to win while night two features pay $1,000. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Shaw Race Cars Western Region, state and track points will be given each night. Contingency awards go to top five drivers in four-day point standings for the tour. Car and driver is $50 for the first night and $75 for the second night at both tracks.
