Duke rules PASS at Port Royal

By Frank Buhrman PORT ROYAL, PA. (APRIL 24) – “It seems like forever since we won a race.” For 2019 IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car national and Pennsylvania Sprint Series champion Ken Duke Jr., that was an understandable thought. After scoring eight victories in that magical season, he only visited victory lane once in 2020, on July 11 at his hometown Selinsgrove Speedway.  There were plenty of good finishes – 12 top five’s – but then only the one last year and none so far in 2021, so it made Saturday’s Port Royal Speedway win, the 17th victory of his PASS career, special. “We got a good pill draw tonight (starting second in the feature),” Duke said from victory lane. “The track was to our liking. They did a great job with the surface here. We got lucky, we started on the front row that makes things so much easier.”  Duke slipped past fellow front-row starter Rowdy Heffner in the second turn of the first lap and was untouchable in clean air, but some struggling in [Read More]

We’re really improving and getting it closer to where we want it, so hopefully we can keep building off my two wins this week and keep it going,” said Richards, also the Friday winner at Salina. “The Stock Car is better right now because we have it so close, but they’re both really close right now. The SportMod needs a little adjusting and the Stock Car needs just a touch more drive. We’ll have them both figured out by next week.”  Three-time and defending track champion Grabouski was the IMCA Modified feature winner while Joey Danley’s late [Read More]

Starting on the inside of the second row, Schultz grabbed the lead early and never look back to earn the IMCA Modified victory. Stalking Schultz much of the event was Brandon Clough as he tried to catfish around the low side of the track as well test the waters on the cushion but it was too little, too late and Clough was forced to settle for runner-up honors.  Don Geist was third. Taking full advantage of the great starting position, Bayne was the winner of the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature.
