$6,000 up for grabs for IMCA Modified winners at upcoming Perris events

By Scott Daloisio PERRIS, Calif. – Due to the love of racing from an anonymous donor, the next six weeks could be very lucrative for IMCA Modified racers at Perris Auto Speedway. From this Saturday night, June 12, through July 24th, there will be four PASSCAR/IMCA races at the famous Riverside County half-mile clay oval. If a single driver wins all four of the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying IMCA Modified mains, that driver would take home $6,000. James, Bloom, Drake win Cottage Grove Kids’ Night features

By Stephanie Deatherage COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (June 5) – Bricen James, Ray Bloom and Scarlett Drake didn’t kid around with their IMCA competition on Kids’ Night at Cottage Grove Speedway. Paul Rea was quick to get out in front of the IMCA Modifieds in their feature. Rea blazed the trail in the first half of the race but was overtaken on lap 15. James was the one to get to the front and did his very best to create space between himself and second. Several stoppages kept things close and put a bunch of emphasis on the restarts. In the end, the Albany racer navigated his way around The Grove in first place. James scored his third win at Cottage Grove Speedway and his second straight. John Campos finished the runner-up, followed by Jesse Williamson. Curtis Towns got fourth while fifth went to Jeffrey Hudson. Braaten back in victory lane at Southern Oregon

(June 5) – The first repeat winner of the 2021 season at Southern Oregon Speedway emerged from the Saturday night Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature, as Jorddon Braaten scored his second straight victory at the White City facility. Braaten now has three wins in KMJ Performance Oregon State competition and five overall in the current campaign. Billy Richey and Branden Wilson were second and third, respectively. Yreka, Calif., teen Ryan Peery posted a fourth-place result followed by Matt Sanders in fifth.

Bjerkeset up to challenge at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 5) – The highlight of the Saturday night show at Arlington Raceway was the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature, when Ryan Bjerkeset took a back row challenge along with Brent Uecker and Chad Schroeder for an extra $750 from the sponsors for winning the race. Seventeen cars started and there were three different leaders. Matt Schauer led for the first 13 laps with a hefty advantage on the field but pulled off due to his car overheating. Schroeder encountered a flat tire and pulled off on lap seven, ending his own night. Alex Dostal took advantage of Schauer’s misfortune and inherited the lead but a yellow was thrown when Andrea McCain spun. That opened the door for Bjerkeset on the restart as he had been picking cars off lap by lap. IMCA Stocks, Northern SportMods, Hobbies chase big checks at Stuart’s June 15-16 Dirt Duel

STUART, Iowa – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both race for $2,500 to win while IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks chase a top $1,500 check at Stuart Speedway’s Tuesday and Wednesday, June 15 and 16 Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel. Another $500 in bounty money will be paid to the Stock Car driver winning that feature ahead of Dallon Murty and Damon Murty. The Stock Car winner also becomes eligible to qualify for the B & B Chassis All-Star race. Snyder scores big at Bethany in URSS Budweiser Shootout

BETHANY, Mo. (June 5) – The POWRi Drive to Zero United Rebel Sprint Series Presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing debuted at yet another Missouri facility on Saturday. The $1,000 to win Budweiser Shootout feature event at Bethany Speedway was action-packed with several position changes and it was Lincoln, Neb.’s Stu Snyder claiming victory. Jacob Dye and Mike Houseman Jr. set the pace for the 25-lap feature. The initial start resulted in hard contact between several cars and Chad Salem flipped into turn one. A complete restart saw Houseman taking off with the early lead, followed by Dye and Snyder. Snyder took over second while Ty Williams began his march forward from ninth starting. DENISON, Iowa – IMCA Modifieds and IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars both run for $1,000 to win this Friday, June 11 at Crawford County Speedway. Wyett breaks Becerra’s streak at Lee County

By Brian Neal DONNELLSON, Iowa (June 4) – Sean Wyett ended another driver’s winning streak and started one of his own Friday at Lee County Speedway. The 18-lap Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature had Quinton Shelton and Bob Cowman scheduled to lead the field to green, but when Shelton didn’t make the call Joe Roller moved up to the pole position. Wyett, who originally started fifth, shot out into the lead over Barry Taft and Joe Bliven. Wyett had started to pull away from the field, when a caution on lap six bunched the field back up. On the restart, Wyett jumped back out front with Austen Becerra, who started 11th, Taft and 12th starting Adam Birck glued to his back bumper.
