IMCA national, regional Modified champions earn Speedway Engineering awards

SYLMAR, Calif. (Feb. 12) – Speedway Engineering rewards the accomplishments of national and regional IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified champions again in 2014. The top driver in national point standings receives a complete rear end housing from the Sylmar, Calif., suspension and drivetrain products manufacturer. The 16-year IMCA sponsor gives $300 product certificates to each of the other four regional champions. IMCA Late Model, Sprint Car, Stock Car rookies vie for Howards Cams awards

OSHKOSH, Wis. (Feb. 11) – Rookie drivers in three IMCA divisions vie for monthly awards in 2014 from Howards Cams. Registered first-year competitors in the IMCA Late Model, IMCA Eagle Motorsports RaceSaver Sprint Car and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car divisions winning a feature event become eligible for a monthly drawing for a flat tappet cam. One cam will be awarded each month April through November. A picture of each Howards Cams award recipient will be published in the Inside IMCA newsletter. Located in Oshkosh, Wis., Howards begins its sixth season as an IMCA partner and also awards $100 product certifi­cates to designated rookies of the year and special series champions powered by engines built in the aftermarket. SOMERTON, Ariz. (Feb. 11) – The biggest Winter Nationals paycheck and an IMCA Xtreme Mo­tor Sports Modified series championship are at stake this weekend at Cocopah Speedway. After running for $1,000 to win and a minimum of $100 to start their Friday, Feb. 14 feature, sanc­tioned Modifieds vie for a $3,000 top prize in the Saturday, Feb. 15 Winter Nationals finale. Smith sweeps Winter Nationals IMCA Modified features at Cocopah

SOMERTON, Ariz. (Feb. 7-8) – Despite his lengthy record of success, Dylan Smith has never started a race season quite like this. Smith swept weekend IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified Winter Nationals features at Cocopah Speedway, earning $1,000 for each of his Friday and Saturday night victories. “It’s a great way to start the season,” said the former national champion and defending IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s king. “I’ve never won right out of the box like this before. It was kind of different for me.” Smith started Friday’s 25-lapper from outside row two and passed pole starter Kent Rosevear for the lead on the fifth circuit. Sixth starting R.C. Winter Classic starts new season at Lubbock Speedway Feb. 15, 16

LUBBOCK, Texas (Feb. 9) – The inaugural Winter Classic special gets the new race season started next Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 15-16 at Lubbock Speedway. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds run for $1,000 to win in Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying events both nights. Top prizes for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods are $500 while IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks chase $200 to-win checks. 11 dates on XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour schedule

VINTON, Iowa (Feb. 7) – The fifth annual XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour takes the best Modified drivers from in and around Iowa to 11 different tracks this season. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds race for a minimum of $1,000 to win and $150 to start each night. The champion also earns a $600 share of the $3,000 point fund, a portion of which is provided by new series title sponsor XSAN. Knoxville Raceway is new to the tour schedule as the Thursday, July 17 show doubles as a series show and the Harris Clash.
