281 switches Spring Fling to April 25, 26

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – The Spring Fling originally planned for this weekend at 281 Speedway has been rescheduled for Saturday and Sunday, April 25-26. Inclement weather, wet track conditions and a wet and windy forecast prompted the change of dates. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts will race both days at Stephenville. Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. On Sunday, gates open at 1 p.m., the grandstand opens and hot laps start at 3 p.m. and racing is at 4 p.m. All applicable IMCA points will be awarded. There is no registration fee and pit passes are $30. Spectator admission is $10 for adults, $3 for kids ages 6-12 and free for youngsters five and under. Deery, Hawkeye Dirt Tour, Dakota Classic drivers chase CPD product certificate awards

FORT DODGE, Iowa– CPD Racing Tools rewards drivers in four of IMCA’s most prestigious special series again this season. Fifty dollar product certifi­cates, good toward shock services from the Fort Dodge, Iowa, manufac­turer, will be awarded to top 10 finishers in official point standings for the Deery Brothers Summer Series for Late Models, the Haw­keye Dirt Tour for Modifieds and the Kupper Chevrolet Dakota Classic Tour for Modifieds and Stock Cars. Schrader joining IMCA Modified fields for April 1-4 Frostbusters at Oskaloosa, Vinton, Marshalltown, Boone

OSKALOOSA, Iowa – IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds will race for a top prize of $1,000 and a spot on the ballot for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational at each of four Frostbuster specials April 1-4. Ken Schrader joins the Modified entrants beginning with opening night on Wednesday, April 1 at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa. Benton County Speedway at Vinton hosts the Thursday, April 2 show. The Friday, April 3 Frostbuster is at Marshalltown Speedway and Boone Speedway hosts the Saturday, April 4 finale. Central Region for IMCA Modifieds runs under Jet Racing banner again in 2015

BEATRICE, Neb. (March 23) – Jet Racing returns to the title sponsorship role for IMCA’s Central Region for Modifieds for a fourth consecutive season in 2015. The region includes sanctioned tracks in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and eastern Colorado. Sheridan Speedway writes new racing chapter with IMCA Modified sanction

SHERIDAN, Wyo. – After nine years, new numbers will be written on the lineup board at Sheridan Speedway. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds will headline Friday shows at Sheridan this season. The 3/8-mile dirt oval had been idle since 2006 and car numbers were still visible on the infield whiteboard when cleanup and renovation work got underway. “I had raced there myself and it always sparked my interest to own my own track,” said Craig Draper, who purchased the speedway last December. “We’re revamping the entire facility. We have built all-new concessions and grandstand seating. This is an outstanding track.” Spectator parking will be expanded and an overflow area for the pits is in the works. Chevrolet Performance builds on IMCA crate engine bonus success

GRAND BLANC, Mich. – Top-performing crate engine competitors in four IMCA divisions are in the running for bonuses from Chevrolet Performance again in 2015. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod, Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMod and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock drivers powered by crate engines receive $250 bonuses for each local track championship won this season. Chevrolet Performance paid bonuses totaling $33,500 to winners of 134 track titles in 2014, the first year of a three-year pact. Modified drivers earned $13,250 for 53 crate engine track crowns. SportMod drivers pocketed $13,000 for 52 local titles while Hobby Stock drivers netted $7,250 for 29 championships.
