Anschutz cruises to first IMCA Stock Car win at Thunderhill

By Edward Anschutz STURGEON BAY, Wis. (April 25) – Jeremy Anschutz withstood heavy pressure from Rod Snellenberger to win his first-ever IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature at Thunderhill Raceway. Jeremy Anschutz gained control on lap three after Scott Reinhardt tagged the wall. Snellenberger wasted no time jumping to the runner up spot and began to pressure Anschutz down low. Snellenberger took the lead on lap six but Anschutz came storming back up top to regain the front. While trying to find a little extra grip down low, Snellenberger clipped an infield tire, allowing defending champ Dave Bouche to sneak by. In the end it was Anschutz cruising to the win over Bouche. Snellenberger had to settle for third. Wernette wins Modified main at Crystal

CRYSTAL, Mich. (April 25) – Chad Wernette held off A.J. Ward to take the win in the All Star Performance IMCA Modified event Saturday at Crystal Motor Speedway. Myron DeYoung followed in a close third, followed by Gary VanderMark and Cory Ruesink.

VanDenBerg scores first IMCA Modified win at Lee County

By Brian Neal DONNELLSON, Iowa (April 24) – Carter VanDenBerg raced back into the lead on the ninth of 20 laps and stayed in front the rest of the way to earn his career-first Budweiser IMCA Modified feature win Friday at Lee County Speedway. VanDenBerg was briefly in the lead following an early restart. Bill Roberts Jr. slipped under him to grab the point. The front pair raced side-by-side for two circuits before VanDenBerg regained first. Van Pay conquers 33-car IMCA Modified field at 141

Van Pay showed he is still one of the top hands in the poker division that is the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified class after all his years in competition. Van Pay bested a star-studded 33-car field Saturday at 141 Speedway. Jay Matthias was putting the lap money in his pocket early, working the berm smoothly while Van Pay settled into second. Not content to just occasionally take a peak underneath, Van Pay made his move halfway through the event. He shot down low heading into turn one as Matthias had his right rear tire go down. Van Pay cleared Matthias and then set sail on the top of the track. Van Pay picked up the caution-free feature event win, his career 123rd in the division. Cady anticipates first Willamette IMCA Modified event

Hamilton County Deery rescheduled for July 23

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa (April 24) – The Deery Brothers Summer Series event rained out last Saturday at Hamilton County Speedway has been rescheduled. Touring IMCA Late Models will join the July 23 Thursday Night Thunder program at Webster City. The evening’s main event pays $3,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. Regular weekly classes will also run during the county fair show. The rescheduling results in a midweek doubleheader as the series is at Quad City Speedway in East Moline, Ill., on Wednesday, July 22. Quad City Speedway is also the next Deery destination. Princeton opens May 1 with IMCA Modifieds, Northern SportMods, Sport Compacts

PRINCETON, Minn. – Three IMCA divisions will have another regular weekly home in central Minnesota, when Princeton Speedway opens for the season on May 1. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts run on Fridays on the quarter-mile Mille Lacs County Fairgrounds dirt venue. IMCA Eagle Motor Sports Sprint Cars join May 15, June 26, July 24 and Sept. 18 shows at Princeton. MILTON, Fla. – Bigger payouts are at stake for top five finishers in the Saturday, April 25 Bay Area Emerald Coast Tour feature at Southern Raceway. The IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified feature winner earns $650, with $500 for second, $400 for third, $300 for fourth and $250 for fifth.
