MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Aug. 21) – Richie Gustin repeated as the Rumours Sports Bar & Grill IMCA Late Model feature winner Friday at Marshalltown Speedway.
Gustin gained the lead from Jason Hahne following an early restart. Todd Cooney outdueled crowd favorite Darrel DeFrance for second. Hahne fell back to fourth and Chris Snyder was fifth.
Tom Berry made the long trip from Oregon and grabbed the lead early in the Coors Light IMCA Modified feature. The red flag came out on lap four after Tyler Gross rolled off the top of turn two.
Chris Abelson worked his way from 10th starting to the lead by lap five. After the caution come out for the final time on lap 15, Abelson sped to his second local win. Jake Strayer, Ronn Lauritzen. Josh Gilman and Scott Simatovich completed the top five.
Damon Murty was the Miller Lite IMCA Stock Car winner and Austin Luellen got the best of the Toby K’s Hideaway IMCA Hobby Stocks. Jake McBirnie was a first-time winner this season in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods.
Total car count for the night was 111.
