Dominator designates post-season awards for Deery drivers and in five IMCA divisions

LYONS, Ohio – Deery Brothers Summer Series competitors and drivers in five IMCA divisions chase product certificate awards from Dominator Race Products again this season. The Lyons, Ohio, manufacturer and 11-year sponsor gives $100 product certificates to sixth through 15th place finishing drivers in official point standings for the IMCA Late Model tour. Product certificates of the same value go to ninth and 10th place finishers in each of the five regions for IMCA Modifieds and to ninth and 10th place drivers in national Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMod standings. IMCA state point races heating up, $100 Eibach gift certificates go to 81 champions in six division

CORONA, Calif. – IMCA state point races, just like temperatures across much of the country, are really starting to heat up. Leraas leads last laps for Virginia Sprint Series win

(June 29) – Mike Leraas led the last five times around the Shenandoah Speedway oval Saturday, becoming the eighth different winner in nine Virginia Sprint Series events this season. Chris Ware and Bill Rice paced the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car field to green with Rice out first, leaving Ware to deal with Jerald Harris, Glenn Worrell and Leraas. Rice was a lane up and staying smooth as Harris tried every way to get by. After a caution tightened the field, Rice took off again with Ware, Leraas and Worrell in pursuit. Rice was leading still but Leraas and Worrell were on the way. With five to go, Leraas swept low and into the lead. Worrell made it by for second but ran out of time to catch Leraas Next it’s back for the annual trip to Langley Speedway in Hampton on Saturday July 6. Feature results – 1. Mike Leraas; 2. Single season wins record to Winebarger, Chadwick captures finale, Wild West crown

(June 29) – Collen Winebarger won a single season record fifth feature while Kellen Chadwick’s victory in Saturday’s finale at Willamette Speedway netted him the Wild West IMCA Modified Shootout crown. Chadwick had four runner-up finishes to go with a pair of $1,000 checkers during the eight-race series, beating Winebarger, who’d finished 17th in the fourth tour outing, for the title by 10 points. In the afternoon make-up feature it was utter dominance by Winebarger, who led all 35 laps. All that slow him down were six stoppages, but he mastered every single restart. The win marked Winebarger’s fifth of the week, third in a row and set the record for most triumphs in a single season with the series. It was also Winebarger’s eighth career Wild West victory and his fourth tour win at Willamette. John Campos was second followed by Chadwick, Grey Ferrando and Brad Martin. Johnson collects Late Model win at Off Road Speedway

(June 29) – Jim Johnson raced to his second IMCA Late Model victory in as many nights, coming out ahead of a four-car battle for the lead at Off Road Speedway. Travis Dickes, Ben Sukup and Chris Johnson battled Johnson most of the race. Ultimately, Sukup was able to pass Dickes for second place with two laps remaining, but fell just short of catching Jim Johnson at the finish line. Also the Friday winner at Boone County Raceway, Johnson is hoping the two wins might be a turning point. “It’s been a rough start, with a new car and new chassis. Winebarger ties Wild West Shootout record with fourth win of season

Winebarger’s fourth series win of 2019 came at Willamette Speedway and matched the record set by Brian Poppa (2011) and first equaled by Kellen Chadwick (2016). Pole starter Winebarger stayed out front and out of trouble from the get-go Friday despite five stoppages. He was pressured late by Jesse Williamson, who bicycled hard in the first set of turns and eventually Jesse pulled off the track. Chadwick, Justin Duty, Grey Ferrando and Matt Jenner made up the rest of the final five. Lebanon saw the biggest car count of the week with 48 drivers assembled in the pits representing five states and British Columbia. Sellard rules IMCA Modifieds at Dodge City

(June 29) – Clay Sellard needed less than two laps to race into the lead from eighth and led the rest of the way in the 20-lapper for IMCA Modified to become the fifth different winner in as many races Saturday at Dodge City Raceway Park. Sellard stretched his lead out to a full half-lap by the time a late caution flew to set up a four-lap dash to the stripe the Mid-Season Championship Night show.
