Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights Tour finale set Saturday at Benton County

VINTON, Iowa – The final checkers fly this weekend at Benton County Speedway for the 10th annual Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights Tour.

IMCA Modifieds race for $1,500 to win in their Saturday, Sept. 28 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying feature. 

Also on the card at Vinton are IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods.

In addition to special series points for the Modifieds, IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and E3 Spark Plugs State points will be awarded. 

Pit gates open at 2 p.m., the grandstand opens at 4 p.m. and hot laps are at 4:30 p.m. with racing to follow. Grandstand admission is $15 for seniors, $12 for students and military, and free for kids ages five and under. Pit passes are $30.

Saturday’s race program will be broadcast by IMCA.TV.

Season opener with fans at Benton County Speedway Sunday, June 7

By Jerry Mackey  VINTON, Iowa – The 2020 point racing season will take the green flag this Sunday, June 7 at the Benton County Speedway, The Bullring. Under the direction of the Dripps family, the Speedway located on the Benton County Fairgrounds has undergone many improvements and upgrades. The track is in excellent condition and with all the time and effort put into enhancing the surface, the track is going to be very conducive to extremely exciting racing.   Sunday night’s racing under the IMCA sanction will see racing in the IMCA Modified, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock divisions.  “We are really excited to welcome the fans to The Bullring this Sunday,” stated Rick Dripps, “Our goal is to provide an exciting, fast-paced show that will be run in a timely fashion “  On Sunday, the warmup session will get underway at 4:30 p.m. with the first race scheduled to go green at 5 p.m.

100th IMCA Speed Shift TV Dirt Knights checkers fly at Benton County for Berry

VINTON, Iowa (Aug. 30) – After taking the checkers, Tom Berry took time to appreciate his latest accomplishment at Benton County Speedway: Winning the Sunday night Speed Shift TV Dirt Knights tour feature.  Berry, in the hunt for the IMCA Modified national championship, led all 30 laps in winning the 100th event in tour history. He became the 45th different winner in tour history by taking the 2020 finale checkers at Vinton.  “It means a lot to us to win the 100th Dirt Knights event. It’s awesome to get this win tonight and our 20th win of the season.” Berry said following the convincing run to the checkers. “This is a bullring and the lapped traffic made it a little hairy, but this was a win we needed and it feels good to get it.” The $1,000 victory put Berry on the ballot for the 2021 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Bullring opener set for Sunday

VINTON, Iowa – With the annual season-opening Frostbuster special in the books, the weekly points opener is next on the schedule at the Benton County Speedway Bullring this Sunday, April 18. Five IMCA sanctioned divisions are set to do weekly battle on the Bullring throughout the 2021 season, including the 96.5 KISS Country Modifieds, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods presented by Christie Door Company, Sunoco Stock Cars presented by Albert Auto, Sunoco Hobby Stocks presented by Kwik Star and Mach-1 Sport Compacts presented by Auto Crafters.  Pit gate and grandstand both open at 3 p.m., with hot laps at 5:40 and racing to follow. General grandstand admission is $13, seniors and veterans $11 and students ages 6-14 $5. Kids five and under are admitted free with a paid adult. Pit passes are $30.
