Green flag flies again Friday night at Hancock County Speedway

BRITT, Iowa – Racing returns to Hancock County Speedway Friday night, with five IMCA divisions on the June 11 card. The Hancock County District Fair Board has taken over promotion of weekly events, slated to feature IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts, for the remainder of the season. “We would like to thank Ryan, Holly and Daryl for all of the work they have put into the track for the past year and a half,” said Ryan Hiscocks, a fair board director. “The facility is in great shape. The weather looks to be great for Friday and we invite everyone to come out and enjoy the races.” Three bicycles will be given away to kids attending the Friday race program at Britt, on Hillenga Seeds and Trulson Auto Parts Night. Willamette Speedway returns to racing this Saturday

By Ben Deatherage LEBANON, Ore. – Willamette Speedway will be back in action this weekend with IMCA Modifieds and Mach-1 Sport Compacts on the Saturday, June 12 card. Racing kicks off at 6 p.m. Online tickets will be available for purchase on the website and will be $15 for adults, juniors ages 13-17, seniors 62 and over and military are $12, kids ages 6-12 are $5 and five and under is free. Pit passes are $40 as is the car and driver fee. Willamette Speedway is now under the management of co-owner Jimmy Schram, a long-time racer at the Lebanon facility and across the Pacific Northwest in Super Late Models and IMCA Modifieds. Schram is a former Super Sport champion at the track, winning the title in 2007. The 1/3-mile clay oval last hosted an event on October 24th of last year for the Ice Cube Cup. Dodge City Raceway Park celebrates Boot Hill Championship weekend

Spectators packed the grandstands, Boot Hill champions sprayed spectacular trophies with celebratory champagne and the Jake Gill band bellowed country and rock ’n’ oll on Victory Lane. Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod drivers Jacob Olmstead, Tyler Watts and Brendyn Nordyke finished on top of the two-day Boot Hill Championship finale Saturday. So, too, did IMCA Modified feature winner Tanner Black, Bucklin resident Clay Sellard and Kelsie Foley take home the big checkers, the big trophies and spray the cold bubbly. The Jake Gill band resounded loudly from victory Lane for a Saturday night afterparty. IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win at Thunderbird’s Saturday Summer Series

MUSKEGON, Mich. – Another $1,000 top prize is at stake this Saturday at Thunderbird Raceway, in the June 12 IMCA Modified Summer Series event presented by JJ Motorsports. The feature is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier and pit gates open at 3 p.m. The grandstand opens at 4:30 p.m., hot laps are at 5 p.m. and racing is at 6:15 p.m. Pit passes are $30. Spectator admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors ages 60 and over, $5 for kids ages 6-11 and free for ages five and under.

IMCA Modifieds back in action Saturday at Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – After getting a night off last weekend, the IMCA Modifieds presented by Bad Boy Mowers will be back in action this Saturday at Springfield Raceway with a tight battle for the top of the point standings between former track champion James Thompson, a two-time feature winner this season, and the most previous feature winner Jackie Dalton. Despite missing the opening race, Dalton has climbed up the ladder and is only 16 points behind Thompson. A multi-time track champion, Dalton seems to be hitting strides in this car while Thompson is known for making a late race charge for the win. United Rebel Sprint Series heading back to Dodge City Raceway Park

DODGE CITY, Kan. – The Drive to Zero POWRi United Rebel Sprint Series presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing is slated to return to Dodge City Raceway Park this Saturday, June 12, for another duel with the DCRP Sprint Cars. The IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car series last visited Dodge City Raceway Park on April 24, when Ty Williams captured the season opening victory. Hot laps are scheduled to begin atop the ⅜-mile semi-banked facility at 6:15 p.m., with racing at 7 p.m. The United Rebel Sprint Series partnered with Kansas’ Drive to Zero program to offer a $5,000 payday to the 2021 series champion. The Drive to Zero program was designed with one goal in mind, to reduce fatalities and serious injuries that occur on Kansas highways, targeting child passenger safety, impaired driving, texting, and seat belt violations. $6,000 up for grabs for IMCA Modified winners at upcoming Perris events

From this Saturday night, June 12, through July 24th, there will be four PASSCAR/IMCA races at the famous Riverside County half-mile clay oval. James, Bloom, Drake win Cottage Grove Kids’ Night features

By Stephanie Deatherage COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (June 5) – Bricen James, Ray Bloom and Scarlett Drake didn’t kid around with their IMCA competition on Kids’ Night at Cottage Grove Speedway. Paul Rea was quick to get out in front of the IMCA Modifieds in their feature. Rea blazed the trail in the first half of the race but was overtaken on lap 15. James was the one to get to the front and did his very best to create space between himself and second. Several stoppages kept things close and put a bunch of emphasis on the restarts. In the end, the Albany racer navigated his way around The Grove in first place. James scored his third win at Cottage Grove Speedway and his second straight. Braaten back in victory lane at Southern Oregon

(June 5) – The first repeat winner of the 2021 season at Southern Oregon Speedway emerged from the Saturday night Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature, as Jorddon Braaten scored his second straight victory at the White City facility. Braaten now has three wins in KMJ Performance Oregon State competition and five overall in the current campaign. Billy Richey and Branden Wilson were second and third, respectively. Yreka, Calif., teen Ryan Peery posted a fourth-place result followed by Matt Sanders in fifth.

Bjerkeset up to challenge at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 5) – The highlight of the Saturday night show at Arlington Raceway was the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature, when Ryan Bjerkeset took a back row challenge along with Brent Uecker and Chad Schroeder for an extra $750 from the sponsors for winning the race. Seventeen cars started and there were three different leaders. Matt Schauer led for the first 13 laps with a hefty advantage on the field but pulled off due to his car overheating. Schroeder encountered a flat tire and pulled off on lap seven, ending his own night. Alex Dostal took advantage of Schauer’s misfortune and inherited the lead but a yellow was thrown when Andrea McCain spun. That opened the door for Bjerkeset on the restart as he had been picking cars off lap by lap.
