Rust roars to Rage Chassis 40 IMCA win at Fayette County Speedway

By Zakary Kriener WEST UNION, Iowa (July 21) – With ferris wheel and carnival lights providing a picture-perfect backdrop at Fayette County Speedway Wednesday night, IMCA Modifieds headlined the annual fair races provided plenty of action and a thrilling conclusion. Joel Rust was the $2,000 feature winner at the inaugural Rage Chassis 40, leading the last two times around the West Union oval. “It was pretty cool. Cochrun wins Clint Walrod Memorial

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (July 21) – One hundred and twenty-nine race cars came to the Clint Walrod Memorial at Stuart Speedway. Feature winners for the night were Kaden Cochrun, Lucas Daniels, Izac Mallicoat, Jeremy Gettler, Dylan Nelson, Tim Ward and Braxton Wallace. IMCA STARS Mod Lites were first up with Mike Zemo Jr. and Nathan Wolfe on the front row. Kaden Cochrun shot into the lead on lap one and through a couple of cautions it was all the 23K as he took the feature win. Josh May made it interesting but came up second with Zemo third, Dillon Raffurty fourth and Jon Padilla fifth. Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods came out with Shane Paris and Izac Mallicoat leading the field to green. Mallicoat powered into the lead until the caution flew on lap six. America’s Home Track Eagle Raceway ready for Sept. 2-5 RaceSaver Nationals

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. – It’s the time of year when all fans of the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars start looking forward to the Big Dance. Just a month and a half from now, the ninth annual IMCA RaceSaver Nationals presented by Sunbelt Rentals will be run at its birthplace, Eagle Raceway. The brainchild of Roger Hadan, who wanted to give drivers in the division a place to show their mettle on a national scale, began in 2013 with 55 drivers competing and has grown ever since. So far this year there are 65 teams pre-entered with many more to come. Can we break our record of 117 this year? All-Star qualifying format announced for IMCA Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – Two rounds of group time trials will fill starting fields for both Modified and Stock Car All-Star Invitationals at the Sept. 6-11 IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Qualifying for the inaugural B & B Chassis Stock Car All-Star Invitational will be Wednesday, Sept. 8 at Boone Speedway. Five drivers from the Northern Region and five drivers from the Southern Region advance from the first round; with winners of sanctioned events paying $5,000 or more guaranteed starting spots, the number of at-large qualifiers from round two that evening is yet to be determined. Qualifying for the 18th annual Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 9. Gallatin Speedway promoter’s daughter Ali Weisz shooting for Olympic gold

BELGRADE, Mont. – Ali Weisz was 17 years old when she told interviewers her goal was to compete at the Olympics. The daughter of Gallatin Speedway promoter Dave Weisz will do just that this week as a member of the U.S. Shooting Team. She’ll go for the gold in 10 meter women’s air rifle competition, the first event following the opening ceremony on Friday. “She was in elementary when she brought home a flyer about a BB gun safety program one day and decided it was something she wanted to do,” Weisz said. “Ali started with a BB gun in the basement of a gun shop and did that two nights a week.” It was quickly obvious that Ali was a natural and she began competitive shooting and setting records across Montana. IMCA RaceSaver Sprints run at Front Row Challenge

OSKALOOSA, Iowa – IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars make their annual visit to Southern Iowa Speedway for the Front Row Challenge special on Aug. 9, running for $1,000 to win. A minimum of $100 will be paid to start the Monday night main event and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and KMJ Performance Iowa State points will be awarded for the Badger Steel USA-sponsored event.
