Jesse Williamson Wins 2021 Shipwreck Beads Northwest Modified Nationals

Jesse Williamson was better than that in the Saturday Shipwreck Beads IMCA Modified Nationals main event at Grays Harbor Raceway. Williamson worked his way up from ninth starting and led the last 15 circuits of the 40-lapper headliner at Elma, earning $2,500 and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. “I started working the top line to the middle and kind of passed everybody on top,” said Williamson, also the 2009 Shipwreck Beads winner. “It feels pretty good to have this kind of success with a new car (a recently built SDMF Chassis). No ‘June Swoon’ for Cade Richards

By Greg Svoboda LINCOLN, Neb. – After some bad luck back in May, including when the rear end housing on his Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod broke sidelining that part of his racing program, things turned around for Cade Richards as soon as the calendar page turned to June. His series of good IMCA Sunoco Stock Car runs began on June 3 when he brought home a clean sweep of the card at US 30 Speedway, winning his heat from the third row and getting the win in the main event after taking off in fourth. “It was a good night. It seems like we’re getting a good cushion there now,” he said. “We think we’ve pretty much got it figured out what the track is going to do, and we’ve been really fast there lately.” The following night the team towed to Beatrice Speedway. Gary Lamphere tops IMCA Modifieds at The Hill

MONROETON, Pa. (July 23) – Elite Arms joined with The Copy Source to sponsor special 30-lap mid-season championship features at The Hill Friday night. Gary Lamphere led the first six circuits in the IMCA Modified feature, with Keith Jack Lamphere taking over. Eddie Sites powered into second on the eighth lap with Gary and Rodney Morgan debating third. Contact between the leaders ended Sites’ night and moved Keith Jack Lamphere to the rear for the restart. Gary Lamphere regained the lead and paced the field to the checkers. Morgan kept the pressure on throughout, but settled for second at the finish. Brad Sites moved into third with seven laps remaining, and Keith Jack Lamphere, recovered to finish fourth. J.W. Lamphere was fifth.

Fetterman shines at Wagner

WAGNER, S.D. (July 23) – Week 10 of the Fort Randall Casino and Hotel Weekly Racing Series was a hot and muggy day but turned out to be a comfortable and entertaining evening this past Friday night, as Wagner Speedway celebrated Military personnel, First Responders and members of the medical field with free admission, courtesy of First Dakota National Bank and S & S Masonry, both of Wagner. Tony Fetterman showed he was the fast mover in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Starting outside the fourth row, Fetterman worked his way up the ladder, finally passing Toby Ives late in the event to pick up his second victory of the season. Ives would have to settle for second, with Jordan Vosika taking third. Fetterman picked up a $100 Hard Charger bonus for moving up seven spots from his eighth starting position. See, Kile top winners at CJ Speedway

By Jerry Mackey COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (July 23) – After two weeks of no racing due to the heavy rains in the Columbus Junction area the CJ Speedway returned to racing action on Friday night. The night featured Bike night for the kids which saw well over 40 kids leave the track with new bikes or scooters thanks to a long list of donors to the CJ Kids Fan Club. The racing action was highlighted by the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Scott Jordan led before eighth starting Jason See was able to take the point position. See was challenged late by David Brandies, who had started 10th. The two raced several laps with See holding off he constant challenges of Brandies. The final lap saw Brett Lowry shoot by Brandies for second as See took the win. A post-race incident saw Brandies DQ’d and relegated to the final position on the lead lap. Lauritzen, Reitzler, Richards score first Marshalltown wins

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (July 23) – It was Casey’s and Rumours Bar and Grill Salute to Marshalltown Law Enforcement Night at the Marshalltown Speedway Friday. Ronn Lauritzen raced from sixth starting to second and was chomping at the bit for an early restart in the IMCA Modified feature. Lauritzen then put some distance between himself and the field and scored an easy win. The IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars put together another caution-free race. Josh Foster took advantage of his pole starting spot, and shot to the immediate lead. That lead would vanish on lap three, when Todd Reitzler took over the top spot. Reitzler went on to lead the rest of the laps to take his first victory of the year at the High Banks. Foster never went away however, chased Reitzler the entire race, but had to settle for second. Bard bounces back with Path Valley PASS win

(July 24) – Garrett Bard put disappointment behind him and scored a convincing victory Saturday in the Pennsylvania Sprint Series 25-lap feature event at Path Valley Speedway. Bard had endured a rare failure-to-qualify Friday at Big Diamond Speedway, but racing life was clearly back in balance 24 hours later. After a sixth-place start in his heat, Bard finished second, then drew the pole position for the feature and led all the way, taking the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car win by 1.391 seconds over Austin Reed. The win was Bard’s fifth of 2021 and 20th in a PASS career that now spans just over two years. It was his third career win at Path Valley. Ware is fastest in Fast Friday finale

(July 23) – It’s been a few years of top finishes but no wins since 2017 but that all changed as it was back in the Virginia Sprint Series winner’s circle for Chris Ware at Dixieland Speedway. Ware shot back to take the win in the final Fast Friday event of the year for the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car series at Elizabeth City. He and Matt Mullins paced the field to green with Mullins out first up high and Ware right behind with Daren Bolac in third. Ware kept on the pressure, Mullins bobbled off turn two and Ware shot to the front, bringing Jerald Harris with him on the bottom. Ware was smooth out front as Harris chased with Billy Hubbard now third and Mike Leraas fourth. Hubbard slipped and spun in turn two, resetting the field and giving them a chance at Ware but off he went again with Harris still second and Leraas third. Hobo 40 for IMCA Stock Cars July 30 at Hancock County

BRITT, Iowa – Forty laps will be the distance and $2,000 will be the winner’s share of the Hobo 40 feature for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars on Friday, July 30 at Hancock County Speedway. The Hancock County Fair show pays a minimum of $200 to start with a $75 entry fee payable through the MyRacePass link. The winner becomes eligible to qualify for the B & B Chassis All-Star Invitational. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts are also on the draw/redraw card. Pit passes are $35. Snyder claims URSS victory at US 36

OSBORN, Mo. (July 23) – The sizzling summer heat was in full force on Friday at US 36 Raceway for the Drive to Zero United Rebel Sprint Series Presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing. Thirteen cars were in attendance for the second-ever United Rebel Sprint Series appearance at the 3/8-mile and it was Nebraska’s Stuart Snyder taking the top prize with a last-lap pass. The 20-lap IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature event saw Jay Russell and Snyder with front row starting positions. Russell took off with the early lead out of turns one and two, but Snyder challenged back by diamonding the apex in three and four. The red would fly over the field for Kevin Dye flipping in turn three over the cushion. A complete restart again had Russell prevailing with the race lead, while Snyder bounced violently through turn one.
