Richardson, Blurton top United Rebel Sprint fields at Bullring Nationals

LaCROSSE, Kan. (July 30-31) – Twenty-one cars checked in for night one of Bullring Nationals competition at Rush County Speedway with the Drive to Zero POWRi United Rebel Sprint Series Presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing. Steven Richardson cashed in on Friday night’s top prize in a tight battle for the top three positions. Ty Williams and Richardson set the pace for the 25-lap feature. Richardson rushed to the lead with Williams following, both ahead of Jack Potter and Jon Freeman. Adam Gullion moved into the fifth position on lap six. On the ninth circuit, Potter took over the runner-up position while Gullion advanced to fourth. Just past midway, Williams charged back ahead of Potter to reclaim the second position. SPENCER, Iowa (Aug. 2) – A driver from Arizona has found a new home in victory lane at Clay County Fair Speedway. Jake O’Neil drew the pole for Monday night’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event and led all 40 laps of a fast-paced IMCA Speedweek opening event, collecting $5,000 and a starting spot in the upcoming B & B Chassis All-Star Invitational. “It helped starting on the front row,” said O’Neil, from Tucson and also the winner of last week’s Hunting With Heroes Salute to Veterans feature at Spencer. “I wasn’t sure where to be on the race track. WELLINGTON, Kan. – Twenty-five IMCA drivers receive post-season awards again this year from Wellington, Kan., manufacturer Flow Design. LaCrosse tops IMCA Mod Mania feature as The ‘Burg celebrates 35 years of sanctioning

(Aug. 1) – The ‘Burg Speedway celebrated 35 years of sanctioning Modifieds with IMCA on Sunday and Benji LaCrosse celebrated a $3,500 feature win in the evening’s headlined division. A star-studded field of 33 cars rolled in to lay claim to the Mod Mania crown. Included in the field were nine former division champions totaling 25 individual titles at the track over the last 35 years. 2017 champion Todd Dart, pulled a lucky pill to start on the outside of the front row. He wasted no time in capitalizing to lead the opening lap over Greg Gretz. Seven-time time champ Brian Mullen found himself in a three-car battle for third with Mike Mullen and Tyler Wilson. Points battles continue Sunday at Benton County

VINTON, Iowa – With only three nights of weekly racing remaining on the 2021 schedule, points races are heating up at Benton County Speedway. Those battles will continue Sunday, August 8 at The Bullring. No more than five points separate the top drivers in the KISS Country 96.5 IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars presented by Albert Auto Service, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks presented by Kwik Star and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts presented by Auto Crafters. The largest division lead is a mere 14 points in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods presented by Christie Door Company. Gates open at 4 p.m. and grandstand at 4:30, with hot laps scheduled for 5:30 and racing at 6. Grandstand admission is $16 for adults, $14 for seniors and veterans, and $5 for children ages 6-14. NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series has repeat winner as Sites conquers Afton

By Todd Burgess AFTON, N.Y. (July 30) – Brad Sites overcame another bad draw to become the first repeat winner in the NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series Friday at Afton Motorsports Park. The 25-lap main event had Joe Novak and Rodney Morgan lead the field to green as series point leader Sites took the initial green from the ninth starting spot. Novak jumped out to the early lead but it was short-lived as he pushed wide out of turn four on lap three and Rodney Morgan was right there to grab the top spot. Just as the pass was made, the caution flew which resulted in Keith Jack Lamphere starting at the rear of the field on the ensuing green as Sites had already moved up to sixth. Jake McBirnie repeated his win from last week in the IMCA Modified division, as did Mike Kennedy in the IMCA STARS Mod Lites. Logan Anderson in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Dylan Nelson in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks captured their first wins of the year and Johnathon Logue saw his first career win in an IMCA Sunoco Stock Car. (July 30) – After a heartwarming opening ceremony set the stage for US 36 Raceway’s Joe Crist Memorial, Travis Barker went home with the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car win and $2,062. Barker, already eligible to qualify for the B & B Chassis All-Star Invitational, and Conner Masoner started on the front row and set the pace for the star-studded event. Barker got the lead and saw Shadren Turner charge by and slide past, but not for long as Barker held the high line to perfection and drove back by Turner. As Barker paced the field, Chad Clancy worked his way toward the front to challenge for the lead, pressuring Barker to make a bobble. Laney, Shryock win big at Kossuth County Salute to Veterans

By Greg Grabianowski ALGONA, Iowa (July 29) – Returning to the home of its birthplace five years ago, night number two of the Hunting With Heroes Salute to Veterans was a huge success as Cody Laney in the IMCA Modifieds and Kelly Shryock in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars were the big winners of the huge show at the Kossuth County Speedway. The grandstand was packed with many veterans and race fans for the exciting night of dirt track racing. Laney was the biggest winner of the evening money-wise as he led all 20 laps in the Modified feature to earn the $4,500 first place check. Wild West Modified Shootout returns, IMCA.TV to broadcast Aug. 6-14 series

By Ben Deatherage LEBANON, Ore. – After not being on the schedule in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Wild West IMCA Modified Shootout is back. Eight races will be run in nights at four race tracks in the Pacific Northwest. Not only will IMCA Modifieds be in attendance but the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern Sport Mods will accompany the tour in the first seven legs. Modified feature winners earn $1,000 and become eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Lebanon’s Willamette Speedway will kick the whole party off on Friday, Aug. 6 and the tour will remain there for three straight nights.
