CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (Jan. 22) – Cody Thompson got his first win of 2022 while continuing his IMCA Modified education Saturday at Central Arizona Speedway. Lincolns take promotional helm at Dawson County Raceway

LEXINGTON, Neb. – Bobby and Janelle Lincoln take charge at a second Nebraska race track this season, promoting Sunday night shows at Dawson County Raceway. The IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing point season for IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, IMCA Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts at Lexington starts May 8 with season championship night set for Aug. 28. “We are good friends with (former promoter) Chad Dolan and wanted to make sure this track stayed open,” Bobby said. “So we talked to the fair board and got the deal done.” The Lincolns anticipate sharing a lot of cars with other IMCA tracks, including their own Abe’s US 30 Speedway in Columbus. “Chad had Dawson County for three years. David Raffurty services are Feb. 5

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – David Raffurty, 57, Kansas City, Mo., raced into the final lap of life on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, after a courageous battle with Covid 19. David was born in Kansas City on Oct. 26, 1964, to Richard and Linda Raffurty. David was a life-long resident of Kansas City. He attended the Center School District. He graduated from CHS in 1983. David attended vocational school, studying welding and mechanical design. In his senior year, he designed and built a log splitter that won him many awards for welding and design that was way ahead of its time. As a teenager, David worked for Country Club Tree Service in Kansas City, along with having his own firewood business. He had a work ethic second to no one, which led him to starting his own very successful company, D & R Excavating in 1986. Five win features, four clinch titles on IMCA.TV Winter Nationals’ final night

(Jan. 15) – Five drivers were feature winners and four more became champions on the final night of the IMCA.TV Winter Nationals presented by Yuma Insurance at Cocopah Speedway. Ethan Dotson, Chanse Hollatz, Shane Paris and Bobby Horton topped point standings in their respective divisions while Tripp Gaylord, Shelby Williams, Ryan Peery, Thomas Daffern and Riley Clem took the checkers Saturday evening at Somerton. Gaylord cleared Grey Ferrando for the early lead in the IMCA Modified 25-lapper, then set a wicked pace and caught up with the back of the field. The lone caution took place on lap 13 and Kollin Hibdon got close following the restart but couldn’t quite catch the leader. Gaylord’s $1,000 win made him Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligible. Hibdon was second and Tim Ward third. (Jan. 14) – While Friday night saw familiar faces in victory lane, Dillon Richards drove a long ways for his career first IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock victory at Cocopah Speedway’s IMCA.TV presented by Yuma Insurance Winter Nationals. After chasing Brandon Bombardo and then Bobby Horton early in the 20-lapper, the Beatrice, Neb., driver completed his charge from 10th starting to the lead at midway, then stayed in front to the $500 checkers. Thomas Daffern hauled the mail from 22nd starting to second while Horton ended third. Four January $1,000 to win features for IMCA Modifieds on tap at Central Arizona

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. – IMCA Modifieds chase $1,000 top checks on four January race nights at Central Arizona Speedway. IMCA Northern SportMods also run for $750 to win on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 21 and 22 and Jan. 28 and 29 shows while IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars race for $400 to win on Jan. 21 and 22. Modified winners become eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Shaw Race Cars Western and EQ Cylinder Heads Southern regional, KMJ Performance State and track points will be awarded. Pill draw each night is $25. (Jan 13) – The Ethan Dotson Express rolled on, while Shelby Alves, Dallon Murty, Brian Brown and Riley Clem raced to IMCA.TV Winter Nationals presented by Yuma Insurance feature wins of their own Thursday night at Cocopah Speedway. Dotson dominated the entire 25-lap IMCA Modified main event, hitting lapped traffic by the 10th circuit and outrunning Tripp Gaylord in what proved to be a caution-free contest en route to a fourth consecutive $1,000 victory. Tim Ward settled into third. Tanner Black and night one winner Kollin Hibdon completed the top five. The 25-lap IMCA Northern SportMod feature was also a non-stop event.
