Tech inspection precedes Sunday practice, tailgating

BOONE, Iowa – There will be plenty to see, do and enjoy on the Boone Speedway grounds even before opening night of the 34th annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. The tech inspection process introduced in 2014 and well-received again last year will be continued. Southern SportMod champ at Super Nationals added to Stephenville Starter awards program

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – An IMCA marketing partner from the Lone Star State expands its awards presence this September at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Modified, Stock Car, Hobby Stock and Northern SportMod champions also receive starters from the Stephenville manufacturer and eight-year IMCA sponsor. “Stephenville Starter has been a long-time supporter of the IMCA Hobby Stock division, and their partnership with the Race of Champions in Boone continues that tradition,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder commented. “Adding a starter for the Southern SportMod champion just adds another layer of value to that championship.” Ten drivers qualify for the Hobby Stock Race of Champions, to be held Sept. 10, and Stephenville Starter provides a portion of the purse. Pre-registration has benefits at upcoming Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – Pre-registration will have its benefits at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. While saving $20 by entering ahead of time, drivers can reserve pit parking and make themselves eligible for the Sept. 3 Prelude at Boone Speedway. Modified, Stock Car, Northern SportMod and Hobby Stock drivers must have completed pre-registration for the Sept. 5-10 Super Nationals prior to the deadline date in order to compete at the Saturday night Prelude special. Beginning this year, champions in all divisions except Late Models are also required to be pre-registered to be eligible for shares of $13,000 in weekly racing bonus money. “Numbers are already ahead of last year,” said IMCA President Brett Root, noting that entries from 150-plus Modified drivers are already in hand. “The volume of cars for the Prelude is huge and resulted in a Super Nationals-type format last year.” “It’s most efficient for us to have all Prelude drivers be pre-registered for Super Nationals,” he continued. “Once we open the pit gates that day, we’ll be racing within [Read More]

Super Nationals pre-registration required to compete at Sept. 3 Prelude at Boone

BOONE, Iowa – Pre-registration for the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s will be required for drivers planning to race in the Saturday, Sept. 3 Prelude to Super Nationals event at Boone Speedway. Modified, Stock Car, Northern SportMod and Hobby Stock drivers must have completed pre-registration for the Sept. 5-10 Super Nationals prior to the deadline date in order to compete at the Prelude. “The volume of cars for the Prelude is huge and resulted in a Super Nationals-type format last year,” IMCA President Brett Root explained. “It’s most efficient for us to have all Prelude drivers be pre-registered for Super Nationals. Once we open the pit gates that day, we’ll be racing within two hours. This requirement will streamline the race day process.” Drivers in those four divisions who are not pre-registered will be allowed to hot lap but not compete. “We’ll be very steadfast in this,” assured Root. “We will not add racers who are not already registered for Super Nationals to the lineup for any race during the Prelude.” A [Read More]

Theme for Super Nationals best looking car contest is ‘Represent Your State’

BOONE, Iowa – Proud of where you call home? Heck yes, and IMCA is giving you the chance to prove it during the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. “This year’s contest is open to drivers in all seven divisions competing at Boone Speedway and trophies will be awarded in the four divisions that crown champions on Saturday night,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. “We encourage all Super Nationals competitors to be as creative as they can with their home state representation, while making sure required decals are in the correct location on their car.” The same theme was used in choosing best looking entries at the Duel In the Desert last fall. “We wanted to make this announcement now so drivers can start making plans with their graphics company,” Yoder said. “If they let us know in advance, we can make sure announcers identify them during hot laps, for example.”

More Super Nationals pit stalls get RESERVED designation

BOONE, Iowa – Another 46 pit stalls have been designated as reserved for the Sept. 5-10 IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Stalls in Section JJ (along the fence in the north field, next to Manufacturers’ Row) and Section II (in the south pit area) are all on grass, 12 feet wide and 100 feet long. “We have reserved areas where the longer haulers absolutely need to be in,” IMCA President Brett Root said. “We have reconfigured the south pit area in order to accommodate the longer haulers and will do our best to keep them out of the roadways during the event.” Stalls in Section HH (north of turn 3) are 60 feet long, also grass and also newly designated as reserved, meaning all stalls in the main pit area will be reserved. The new pit overflow area near the cell tower area has been designated for divisions with one-day programs … the Southern SportMods on Monday, Sport Compacts on Tuesday and Deery Brothers Summer Series Late Models on Thursday. “Both pre-entry [Read More]

More pit parking in the works for 34th Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – It’s a good problem to have, but a problem nonetheless. With another division added to the program, IMCA and track officials have been pro-active in making sure there’s enough pit area parking for the 34th annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s, to be held Monday through Saturday, Sept. 5-10 at Boone Speedway. In particular, the pits will be expanded to include the cell phone tower area south of the existing pit area. Divisions that run complete programs on a single day – the Southern SportMods on Monday, Sport Compacts on Tuesday and Deery Brothers Late Models on Thursday – will all have reserved space in that area, which will also accommodate overflow in all other divisions. Modifieds and Stock Cars can move in before their qualifying resumes on Friday. “We have addressed a number of issues at Super Nationals to be as accommodating as possible and pit parking has been number one,” said IMCA President Brett Root, also citing turn one seating and bleacher seating adjacent to the hot pit.
