By Candice Martin ANTIOCH, Calif. (May 9, 2026) — Danny Wagner of Bay Point captured the 20-lap Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod main event Saturday night at Antioch Speedway, earning his first Antioch victory of the season and second overall win of the year. The reigning California State and Watsonville Speedway champion entered the night with momentum after winning at Watsonville Speedway the evening before. The victory also marked Wagner’s sixth different division in which he has won a main event at Antioch Speedway. Heat race winners Mark Garner of Antioch and Wagner led the field to green, with Wagner settling into second during the opening laps. Wagner made a backstretch pass on Garner on lap five to take command before a yellow flag slowed the pace one lap later following a three-car incident in turn four. Wagner maintained the lead on the restart while Trevor Clymens of Brentwood slipped past Garner for second. Antioch’s Alfred Johnson brought out another caution on lap eight after becoming involved in his second incident of the race. Wagner continued [Read More]

Montagne Motors to First SportMod Win of Season at Park Jefferson

By Chance Riley JEFFERSON, S.D. (May 8, 2026) — It was another great night of racing at Park Jefferson Speedway under a beautiful 75-degree Friday evening. The Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods saw North Sioux City’s “Toehead” Rusty Montagne pick up his first win of the season after starting sixth. Nearly a year to the day since his last victory on May 8, 2025, Montagne made a decisive mid-race move to the outside of early leader Kirk Beatty to take command. He then held off a hard-charging Jake Newsom, who searched every lane on the speedway but came up just short. Newsom finished second, followed by Beatty, Garret Neville, and Noah Williams. The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks once again delivered exciting action on the high-banked 1/3-mile. Cody Malasek raced his way to the front past Ben Schneiders after falling back early, but it was Sioux City’s Zach Ankrum who stole the spotlight. Ankrum executed a last-corner slide job to win by .201 seconds, earning his third B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of the season—all at [Read More]

By Ben Deatherage COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (May 9, 2026) — Aaron Bloom made a decisive mid-race move to capture the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod feature at Cottage Grove Speedway, scoring his first win of the season in the 25-lap main event. By Jerry Mackey COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (May 8, 2026) — The Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars continue to keep fans on the edge of their seats at CJ Speedway with side-by-side, thrilling racing action. The early part of the season has been dominated by Sigourney’s Nathan Wood. Starting sixth, Wood scored his third consecutive feature win of the year—and third in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region—all at the 4/10-mile dirt track on the Louisa County Fairgrounds. The Friday night win certainly was not an easy one. After advancing through the field and taking over the top spot with five laps remaining, it appeared Wood might cruise to the finish. However, seventh-starting Jordan Miles, making his first visit to CJ Speedway, charged into second and quickly closed the gap. A late caution set up a two-lap dash to the checkers, and as the leaders raced off turn four, Miles dove to the inside while Wood held his line. At the stripe, Wood prevailed by about three feet. Miles finished second, while North Carolina’s Pat Rachels made a [Read More]
