Shryock Nips Fett at the Line in Hancock County Stock Car Thriller

BRITT, Iowa (June 26, 2026) — A last-corner pass and a drag race to the checkered flag highlighted Friday night’s IMCA action at Hancock County Speedway as defending national champion Kelly Shryock stole the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature in dramatic fashion.

Colby Fett appeared headed for victory after racing into the lead and controlling much of the 20-lap feature. But Shryock steadily reeled him in during the closing laps before making a bold move entering the final corner.

The Fertile driver completed the pass exiting turn four, edging Fett to the finish line by just 0.012 seconds.

Starting eighth, Shryock earned his third EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season, with two of those wins coming at Hancock County Speedway. Fett charged from 10th to finish a close second.

Dan Mackenthun completed the podium, Loren Pesicka Jr. finished fourth, and Parker Slagle advanced from 14th to fifth.

Fitz Leads Every Lap for First Hancock County Modified Victory

Trevor Fitz was untouchable in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature, leading from the opening green flag to score his first career victory at Hancock County Speedway.

The Camarillo, California, native collected his fifth Razor Chassis North Central Region win of the season and second overall victory of 2026 at four different tracks.

Jerry Flippo rallied from seventh to finish second, followed by Matt Looft and Izac Mallicoat. Florida native Owen Barnhill completed the top five.

Alec Fett Takes Control Midway for SportMod Win

Alec Fett took command at the halfway point of the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod feature and drove away for the victory. He now has two wins at two different tracks this year.

The Burt driver advanced from sixth to capture the win over Jacob Tachney. Ben Reierson charged from eighth to finish third, Summer Grady was fourth, and Charlie Stevens rounded out the top five.

Nielsen Makes Final-Corner Pass for Hobby Stock Victory

Brandon Nielsen used a dramatic last-lap move to steal the B&B Racing Chassis IMCA Hobby Stock feature.

After chasing longtime leader James Burns throughout the race, the Spencer driver completed the winning pass in the final corner to secure his third B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of the season, with wins now coming at three different tracks.

Burns settled for second ahead of Chris Krug, Josh Sidles and Jade Lange.
