Meyer wins 100th on ‘big night’ of racing at Off Road Speedway

By Randy Pospishil NORFOLK, Neb. (June 18) – Multiple drivers experienced a ‘big night’ of racing at Off Road Speedway Saturday night but none more so than Ramsey Meyer. Meyer, the IMCA Mach-1 Sport Compact national points leader, won for the second straight week at Norfolk but this win was even more special as the Pierce driver recorded his 100th career victory in the division. “I’ve been fighting for that for the last, I don’t know how many, races,” Meyer said. “To finally get that, hopefully we can get some momentum going now.” Starting on the inside of the third row, Meyer immediately squeezed through the midst of the four cars in front of him to get the lead early, then maintained it during two cautions for his fifth win in seven starts this season at Off Road. With a second-place showing, Kandie Smidt managed her first top five finish while Brooke Fluckiger’s race-long progress through the 12-car field ended with a didn’t-quite-get-there effort at the finish line as Dustin Jackson, in a borrowed car, [Read More]

By Kelly Ninas LEXINGTON, Neb. (June 19) – Earning trips to the winner’s circle Sunday at Lexington Raceway were Clay Money, Daniel Gottschalk, Mike Nichols and Jacob Olmstead. After leading much of the way, Cole Egge was second while third went to Trent Roth. Nichols picked up IMCA Sunoco Stock Car career win number 399 in dramatic fashion. Casey Werkmeister grabbed the lead on the second lap and stayed in front until Casey Woken used the bottom groove to get past. Moore has the most in Raceway Park Modified main

By Bob Coney JEFFERSON, S.D. (June 19) – A perfectly prepared track provided multiple grooves and a fast night of IMCA racing Sunday at Raceway Park. The Total Motors IMCA Modified feature saw the fastest action of the night and a controversial ending. Bob Moore got past Jason Schneiders on the second lap and led Jim Cole, Chris Abelson and Ricky Stephan most of the feature. With four laps remaining, Cole got a huge run out of the fourth turn on the outside line, while leader Moore was powering up the track from his inside position. The two came together at the flag stand with Cole clipping the rear of Moore’s car and sending both drivers scrambling for control into the first turn. When the dust settled, Cole led the pack out of the second turn followed by Moore and Abelson. At that point, a caution flew and Cole was penalized back to third for rough driving, giving the lead back to Moore. Moore held on in the final run to the checkered flag over [Read More]

Lunow headlines Saturday winners at Dodge City Raceway Park

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. (June 18, 2016) – Mike Lunow denied a late challenge from Clay Sellard for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified honors Saturday at Dodge City Raceway Park. Lunow raced into the lead on the eighth round and then survived a late caution that gave Clay Sellard a shot at making it two wins in a row in the 20-lapper. After starting eighth, Lunow needed just two laps to work his way up to third and then took second from Kale Beavers by the fifth round. Three laps later, Lunow battled past Tracy Link for the point and checked out on the field. In Lunow’s wake, Sellard battled through the field and took second away from Link with a handful of laps to go but hardly had Lunow in sight a full straightaway in the distance. That changed when the caution flew with just three laps to go when Randle McRoberts looped it off turn four and collected Trent Gray and William Nusser in a high impact collision. Dahl, Huettl, Wolla are 1-2-3 at Dacotah

MANDAN, N.D. (June 17) – Inches made the difference between the top three places Friday at Dacotah Speedway, as Mark Dahl got the best of Jordan Huettl and Jason Wolla in the evening’s Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature. Huettl went from fourth starting to first early in the main event, before a series of cautions slowed the pace. Following the restart on lap eight, Dahl passed Wolla for third and then caught Shawn Strand for second. Strand fell into the clutches of Wolla and Spencer Wilson. They raced three-wide for third until Wolla shuffled into third. With 10 laps to go, Huettl’s lead started to diminish as he started catching lapped traffic. Dahl was all over Huettl’s rear bumper but lapped traffic made it difficult to pass. Wolla quickly caught the leaders and made it a three-car battle. Dahl dove low under Huettl as Wolla looked to the outside. As they crossed the Open Road Honda finish line three wide, Dahl won by inches over Huettl and Wolla. Jason Berg was the Mach-1 Sport [Read More]
