Saathoff soars at Eagle

(June 26) – Sanctioned career win number 342 for Johnny Saathoff came at Eagle Raceway Saturday night. “This was my first feature win of the year and I’m so glad that it came here at Eagle Raceway, my home track,” Saathoff said after the Kaplan University IMCA Modified headliner. “I was getting nervous the last five laps because I almost lost it. Thanks to (promoter) Roger (Hadan) the track is getting better, and we’re finally getting the car set to where the track is. We’ll keep coming back and trying to win.” Defending champion Clint Benson earned his first RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car checkers of 2015 at Eagle. Adam Armstrong won his third straight Valentino’s IMCA Hobby Stock main event. Lance Borgman topped the NAPA IMCA Northern SportMod feature at Eagle for the second time this season and Matt Moyer became a two-time Sam’s Club IMCA Sport Compact winner.

Southern Iowa Speedway hosts 20th IMCA Stock Car Shootout July 1, 2 

OSKALOOSA, Iowa – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars race for $2,000 to win at Southern Iowa Speedway’s 20th annual Budweiser Great American Stock Car Shootout on Wednesday and Thursday, July 1 and 2. The winner also becomes eligible to qualify for the Sunoco Race Fuels Race of Champions during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s in September. The runner-up earns $1,000 and a minimum of $250 will be paid to start the 24-car feature. Tow money is $150. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks both race for $1,000 to win, a minimum of $150 to start and $100 tow. IMCA Stock Cars chase $1,000 check at BVR’s Kyle Suter Memorial

ALTA, Iowa – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $1,000 to win and a minimum of $100 to start at Buena Vista Raceway’s Wednesday, July 1 Kyle Suter Memorial. Larry and Desi Suter of North Central Line Service sponsor the draw/redraw special and pay the $35 entry fee for Stock Cars. Fifty dollar hard charger, long tow and tough luck awards will be given. Tow money for the Stocks is $75. Also running Wednesday at Alta are Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Mach-1 Sport Compacts and BVR Bombers. Rogers, Money are repeat winners at RPM 

By Mike Hughes HAYS, Kan. (June 27) – Jason Rogers and Clay Money made return appearances in the winner’s circle at RPM Speedway on Saturday evening. Rogers became the first repeat winner in the Advantage Glass Plus IMCA Stock Car division at Hays this year. Rogers took the lead on lap seven from Arnold Williams. A caution on lap 19 set up a green, white, checkered finish, giving the field a shot at Rogers, but Rogers, the winner the night before at Thomas County Speedway in Colby, was up to the challenge. Williams was second, followed by Chad Sterling. Money won his third Golden B Hydra Drilling IMCA Northern SportMod feature after taking a lead on lap seven he would not relinquish. LONGDALE, Okla. – Drivers in three IMCA divisions will celebrate big paydays when Longdale Speedway celebrates the holiday with its Saturday and Sunday, July 4 and 5 America Proud Firecracker Nationals special. Hunt ends in victory lane at Crystal 

CRYSTAL, Mich. (June 27) – Mitchell Hunt earned All-Star Performance IMCA Modified honors Saturday at Crystal Motor Speedway. Hunt caught Cliff Denman for second and John Row for the lead. The feature got off to an inauspicious start when point man Travis Fisher got turned around going into turn one on the opening lap and collected Toby Steele, who had nowhere to go.

Bishofberger takes career first IMCA Modified checkers

By Dave Panske OSHKOSH, Wis. (June 26) – Zeke Bishofberger became a first-time Automotive Supply Company IMCA Modified winner Friday at Oshkosh SpeedZone Raceway. Following a lap five caution, Bishofberger took over the lead and started to pull away. Mike Mueller was next to move up and took over second on lap seven with Tim Robbins and Dan Roedl mak­ing up the rest of the top four. They pulled away until a final caution bunched the field on lap 17. Bishofberger controlled the lead over the final three circuits with Mueller making a charge on the outside over the final lap to fall just short and finished second. Roedl was third. Travis Van Straten held off challengers over the final couple laps to secure his fourth local Total Power Sales IMCA Stock Car feature win. Justin Jacobsen was second followed by Jerry Winkler.
