Atomicwraps.com IMCA Empire State Series at Skyline on Monday 

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Skyline Raceway Park is the Memorial Day destination for touring Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds and the Atomicwraps.com Empire State Series. The Monday, May 30 feature at Cortland pays $500 to win. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Rac­ing National, Dirt Works Eastern Region, Allstar Performance State and special series points will be awarded. Pit gates and the grandstand open at 2 p.m. Hot laps are at 3:40 p.m. and racing starts at 4 p.m. Entry fee is $35 and includes the driver’s pit pass. Wild West IMCA Modified Shoot Out boasts seven $1,000 to win Modified dates

By Ben Deatherage WHITE CITY, Ore. – Seven $1,000 to win tour dates are on the schedule for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds following the Wild West Shoot Out. All main events over the course of the June 12-19 tour in the scenic Pacific Northwest are Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers and drivers with perfect attendance throughout the tour earn shares of a $3,500 point fund. Opening night for the sixth annual tour is Saturday, June 11 at Southern Oregon Speedway in White City. Yreka, Calif.’s Siskiyou Motor Speedway hosts the Sun­day, June 12 event. Speedweek travels to Coos Bay Speedway on Monday, June 13, and to Cottage Grove Speed­way on Tuesday, June 14. Inaugural Dakota Track Side Northern SportMod series is July 1-4 

MINOT, N.D. – Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod drivers have four more reasons to celebrate the upcoming Independence Day holiday. The inaugural Dakota Track Side-sponsored tour travels to three different North Dakota tracks from July 1-4 for $700 to win, minimum $100 to start events. Nodak Speedway hosts Friday, July 1 and Monday, July 4 dates, with Southwest Speedway host­ing the Saturday, July 2 show and Williston Basin Speedway rolling out the red carpet for the Sun­day, July 3 event. TORRANCE, Calif. – Claim engine competitors in general and Stock Car regional champions in particular are beneficiaries of Edelbrock’s 2016 contingency awards program with IMCA. Highest finish­ing claim drivers in point standings for each of the five Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified regions receive 2975 Victor Jr. intakes from the Torrance, Calif., company. Thornton wins again at Southern Iowa 

By Jeremy Fox OSKALOOSA, Iowa (May 25) – For the first time this season, Mother Nature cooperated and South­ern Iowa Speedway got two consecutive nights in. Feature winners were Ricky Thornton Jr. in the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds, Cayden Carter in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Dustin Griffiths in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Brett Lowry in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Jake Benischek in the Mach-1 Sport Compacts. Dennis LaVeine had the Modified lead early with Andrew Schroeder running second and Zack Vander Beek and Thornton working their way through the field. Vander Beek had worked his way to the front just before a caution on lap seven. Thornton used the ensuing restart to his ad­vantage, driving by for the lead and eventual win. Can-Am Shootout passing clinics pay off for Hagen and Schroeder

WILLISTON, N.D. (May 20-21) – After putting on a pair of passing clinics, Travis Hagen and Chris Schroeder proved they knew how to stay at the front. Hagen won the Friday opener and Schroeder took the Saturday checkers at Williston Basin Speedway’s Can-Am Shootout. Both drivers earned $1,000 for their Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified victories and a berth on the ballot for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational accompanied Schroeder’s checkers. Hagen was already vote eligible, having won a Can-Am show last summer. Jason Wolla was runner-up both nights, by half a car length on Friday and by two car lengths on Saturday. Hagen started 13th in Friday’s 25-lapper. Dubuque Speedway to host Tri-Track Challenge

By Jerry Mackey DUBUQUE, Iowa – Dubuque Speedway will host a special night of racing featuring the Ideal Ready Mix Tri-Track Challenge. Out Pace Racing Products IMCA Late Models will tackle the high banks of Dubuque Speedway on Sunday, May 29 with a 50-lap main event headlining the racing program with the winner pocket­ing a cool $2,000. In addition to the high-powered Late Models the Merfeld Brothers Auto IMCA Modifieds, GSI Colli­sion Specialists IMCA Northern SportMods and IMCA Stock Cars will all be in action. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. with the first race scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Following the races a fan apprecia­tion party will be held in the Beer Garden with music and refreshments being provided by SPI Promotions.
