Klec­zka dominates IMCA Modifieds at Luxemburg

(May 13) – On a night that had everyone huddling up to stay warm, Andy Kleczka stayed hot on the track and picked up the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature win at Luxemburg Speedway. Kleczka started up front and never looked back. He put his right rear tire right on top of the track and pulled the field around the 1/3 mile. Kleczka’s only concern was a lap three yellow but after the caution it was a Friday Fun night for Kleczka. Kleczka went untouched the rest of the way and built a lead up to a straightaway in the eventual win. Sean Jerovetz made a run to second half way through the race but could never cut in to the lead. R.M. Van Pay finished third after a race-long duel with Brian Joski. Rain on the 13th is unlucky in Midwest, Wyoming

SPENCER, Iowa (May 13) – Clay County Fair Speedway was first to pull the plug with cancella­tions and postponements following around the Midwest. Also KO’d on this unlucky Friday the 13th were Crawford County Speedway, Davenport Speed­way, Dubuque Speedway, Fairmont Raceway, the Iowa State Fair Speedway, Lee County Speed­way, Marshalltown Speedway, Oshkosh SpeedZone Raceway and Princeton Speedway. Maquoketa Speedway has canceled for Saturday. They’ve checked rain gauges in Wyoming as well. Cloud Peak Raceway has postponed from Fri­day to Saturday, Billings Motorsports Park has canceled Friday and Saturday, and Gillette Thun­der Speedway will be silent on Saturday.

IMCA’s Southern Hobby Stock Region continues growth with Charger Chassis support

Deery Series travels to Quad City Speedway for Sunday show 

EAST MOLINE, Ill. – The Deery Brothers Summer Series show at Quad City Speedway this Sunday is the first of three May events for touring IMCA Late Models. All three feature races – May 15 at East Moline, May 18 at Maquoketa Speedway and May 30 at Boone Speedway – pay $2,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. Pit gates open at 3 p.m. Sunday and the grandstand opens at 3:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 5 p.m. with racing to follow. United Rebel Sprint Series Rebels resumes season on Sunday 

WaKEENEY, Kan. – The 2016 United Rebel Sprint Series will make its third appearance at the lightning fast 3/8-mile WaKeeney Speedway Sunday night, May 15. Both previous races there produced some of the closest racing in the URSS history. In the first appearance, Quinter racers Zach Blurton and C.J. Johnson battled with Blurton holding off Johnson to take his first win of the season. In the second race, Liberal’s Steven Richardson held off a hard charging Luke Cranston of Ness City to take his first feature victory of 2016. After suffering its second rain out of the young season at RPM Speedway last month, the Rebels will be anxious to return to the clay once again. With the DCRP Sprint Series having a three week break in their program, look for several of the competitors to make the short pull Sunday night. Grandstands will open at 5 p.m. with racing starting at 6:30 p.m.

Day of Stars at Five Mile Point features IMCA Atomicwraps.com Empire State Series

KIRKWOOD, N.Y. – Five Mile Point Speedway’s Day of Stars features a 25-lap, $500 to win feature for touring Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds. The second appearance at Kirkwood this spring by the Atomicwraps.com Empire State Series was postponed by inclement weather from May 1 to this Sunday, May 15. Pit gates open at 1:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 2:30 p.m. Hot laps begin at 3:45 p.m. and racing begins at 5 p.m. Grandstand admission is $14 for adults, $12 for seniors ages 65 and over, $10 for students ages 13-17 and free for 12 and under.
