Clough delivers at Dawson County 

LEXINGTON, Neb. – Bobby and Janelle Lincoln take charge at a second Nebraska race track this season, promoting Sunday night shows at Dawson County Raceway. The IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing point season for IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, IMCA Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts at Lexington starts May 8 with season championship night set for Aug. 28. “We are good friends with (former promoter) Chad Dolan and wanted to make sure this track stayed open,” Bobby said. “So we talked to the fair board and got the deal done.” The Lincolns anticipate sharing a lot of cars with other IMCA tracks, including their own Abe’s US 30 Speedway in Columbus. “Chad had Dawson County for three years. We helped the first half of the first season and when needed after that,” said Bobby. “Any changes we make will be very minor. LEXINGTON, Neb. (June 23) – The secret of success Sunday at Dawson County Raceway for Tyler Andreasen was staying in the front group and out of trouble. Andreasen found the moisture and traction he needed during the waning laps to lead the final three circuits to earn the Platte Valley Auto Mart IMCA Northern SportMod victory.  Andreasen had made his way through traffic after starting in the sixth row. Anthony Roth led the last 10 times around the oval in winning the Holbein Lawn Service/KLawn of Lexington IMCA Modified main and Mike Nichols hustled from the fourth row to top the Levander Body Shop IMCA Stock Car feature. Jeff Ware repeated as the Overton Sand and Gravel IMCA Hobby Stock winner while Terry Tritt won his third consecutive Plum Creek Motors IMCA Sport Compact feature.

LEXINGTON, Neb. – Dawson County Raceway’s fifth annual Connie Jewett Memorial Championship Night this Sunday features $1,000 to win main events for both IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Ken Schrader joins the Modified field for the Aug. 30 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier. Money has been added to the purse in all divisions. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both race for $750 to win, Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $250 at the draw/redraw show. There is no registration fee. Pit gates open at 3 p.m., the draw closes at 5:30 p.m. and racing starts at 6 p.m. Prizes to be given away during the evening include three flat screen TVs. The Dawson County Cattlemen will give away 150 all-beef hot dogs and complimentary Coca Colas.  Pit meeting prizes will be given and there’s a candy toss for kids as well.
