Woken wins IMCA Stock Car feature at Lincoln County

By Kelly Ninas NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (June 2) – Saying that the competition was fierce would be an understatement when watching action at Lincoln County Raceway Saturday night. There were four lead changes in an IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature that saw Casey Woken drive from 10th starting to the top of the podium. Andrew Baumgardner also drove from the fifth row to score top Mach-1 Sport Compact honors. Taking advantage of a tacky track, Colton Osborn was the victor in the IMCA Modified feature. Osborn started in the second row and took the lead on the seventh lap as he never looked back on his way to the checkers. Jamey Kennicutt led every lap to earn the win in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod main and a see-saw battle in the waning laps of the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature went the way of Luke Wassom.

Mashl tops Luxemburg lidlifter

LUXEMBURG, Wis. (June 1) – It took just shy of a full month from the originally scheduled opener, but Luxemburg Speedway was finally able to defeat Mother Nature and get its first official championship point show in the books Friday night. For Mike Mashl, it was worth the wait. Mashl parlayed a front row starting into a wire to wire victory, besting a loaded field of 32 cars to in the tough IMCA Modified division. Mashl took control early, but before he could get any separation, a four car wreck in corner one on the third lap brought the feature to a standstill. Back under green, Mashl was able to build a cushion over the pack as several teams vied for second. By lap seven, three emerged as the prime candidates for the spot, Johnny Whitman, Benji LaCrosse and Russ Reinwald. Reinwald started deepest on the grid, in the fourth row, passing Brad Lautenbach and Tony Wedelstadt to gain a top five running position. In just a couple laps, Reinwald dispensed with Whitman and LaCrosse, [Read More]

I knew there were a lot of fast cars behind me, so I wanted to get to the front and keep them behind me,” Densberger said. “It was a little rough tonight but after how much rain we got last night you couldn’t ask for a better track. We set the car up for it and she was a rocket tonight.” Shawn Harker won for the fourth time in five Purdue University IMCA Northern SportMod outings at Eagle this season, by [Read More]
