TIPTON, Iowa – The Deery Brothers Summer Series returns to Cedar County Raceway for another opening night show this Saturday.

The April 20 event marks the second time in as many years that the IMCA Late Model tour has started its season at Tipton, where defending champion Justin Kay of Wheatland has won the last four series events. 

That equals a feat accomplished by just one other driver through the series’ first 32 years. Mark Burgtorf of Quincy, Ill., won four straight Deery features at Lee County Speedway from 1998-2000.

Saturday’s feature pays $2,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m.  Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow. 

Spectator admission is $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and students and free for kids ages 12 and under when accompanying a paid adult. Pit passes are $30

Nine previous Deery events have been held at Tipton since 1996; Kay is the only driver with multiple feature wins to his credit there.

The series is at Independence Motor Speedway for another $2,000 to win show on Saturday, April 27. A top prize of $2,500 is at stake the next night, when Dubuque Speedway hosts the event rescheduled from last weekend.

Independence Deery rained out, Benton County show is next

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (June 19) – Add another Deery Brothers Summer Series event at Independ­ence Motor Speedway to the growing list of rainouts.  Tonight’s IMCA Late Model tour race at Indee has been canceled due to rain and resulting condi­tions. No make-up date has been announced.  Next up on the Deery schedule is the $2,000 to win event at Benton County Speedway in Vinton on Thursday, June 27. Independence, Dubuque dates next on Deery Series schedule

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa – A Deery Brothers Summer Series doubleheader is on the docket this weekend, as the 33rd annual tour for IMCA Late Models travels to Independence Mo­tor Speedway and Dubuque Speedway.  A top prize of $2,000 is on the line Saturday, April 27 at Independence while the winner of the Sunday, April 28 Hershel Roberts/Ray Guss Sr. Memorial at Dubuque goes home with $2,500.  Both features pay a minimum of $300 to start. The Sunday show was rescheduled after a mid-April twinbill at Maquoketa and Dubuque was lost to unseasonable weather. The 492nd event in series history takes Deery drivers and fans to Independence for the 30th time.  Pit gates and the grandstand open at 4 p.m. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. with racing to follow. Deery Series headlines opening night at IMCA Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – Opening night of the 2019 IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s brings the Deery Brothers Summer Series to Boone Speedway for the 49th time. The IMCA Late Model tour headlines the Monday, Sept. 2 program at Boone, in a main event that pays as much as $3,500 to win. Along with a guaranteed $2,000, the winner earns a Weekly Racing Bonus of as much as $1,500 based on their number of sanctioned starts this season, plus a wealth of contingency awards. Pit gates open at 9 a.m. and racing starts at 2 p.m. Also on the Labor Day card are qualifying races for Hobby Stocks and Northern SportMods.
