John Nord was second, Greg Friestad third, Dylan Goplen fourth after starting last in the field and Dave Shipley fifth. The 1/4-mile oval at Lisbon hosted a track-record 118 cars for the holiday event.
BEAUMONT, Texas (May 26) – Trey Schmidt added a third Kent Lewis Classic trophy to his collection, following a Memorial Weekend Southern United Sprint feature that was probably a little more exciting than he would have liked. After starting fourth and leading much of the way in the Sunday IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car show at Golden Triangle Raceway Park, Schmidt saw Rod Craddock slip by on the inside and take away the front spot. The two tussled the next three times around the oval, with Schmidt regaining the lead and holding on for the win, his second of the season, despite hitting an infield tire. “There are about three or four big events during the year that you always want to win,” said Schmidt, “and this is one of the biggest.” He’d also won a pair of non-wing Lewis Classics. ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 25) – A former tour champion was back in victory lane following Saturday’s Sprint Series of Minnesota main event at Arlington Raceway. Brandon Allen put on a passing clinic in topping the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature. Allen, the 2015 tour king, took charge after an early restart, checking out of the rest of the 17-car field before taking the win ahead of Neil Stevens and Billy Johnson. Clint Hatlestad won the MN 93 IMCA Modified feature and the B&B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car features saw Chad Schroeder hold off Matt Schauer for the checkers. DeYoung picked up the Saturday Lane Automotive IMCA Modified checkers over Brody Bowser and Mitchell Hunt. On Sunday, Allen scored his second feature win of the season ahead of Matt Szecsodi and Milt Montgomery.

A great crowd witnessed an overflowed pit area of 120 race teams Saturday evening at Maquoketa Speedway after no racing since May 4. No one was more ready for a win than Andy Nezworski. The Buffalo ace started out front, held off early challenges from Todd Malmstrom and then a charging Jeremiah Hurst to capture the season opener for the Andover Meat IMCA Late Models. “It’s an advantage starting up front, no doubt,” Nezworski said in Hoker Trucking/C&W Trucking Victory Lane. “But you have to stay there and we were quick enough to hold them off.” Nezworski opened a quick advantage. Hurst moved to second about halfway through the 25-lapper and closed a half straightaway deficit as Nezworski hit traffic on lap 15. A pair of circuits later, the leader got into lapped traffic just in time for a caution to fly. By Scott Owen SHAWANO, Wis. (May 25) – Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod ace Jordan Bartz stole the show Saturday night with a last-lap pass for her second Shawano Speedway feature win of the year. Bartz, racing without a left-side door panel after surviving a multi-car pileup on lap one, came from the back of the pack after repairs were made to her car by her crew on pit lane. Most of the 24-car field was involved in that melee. Once the cars were removed from the track, a handful went to pit lane for repairs, including Bartz. When the race resumed it was Teagan Wudstrack grabbing the lead. Jason Jach went to the high line to take the lead on lap three. Bartz began working her way through traffic toward the front of the field. A late-race caution brought about a one-lap shootout to decide the race. By Roger M. Williams AUBURN, Mich. (May 24) – Tanner Pray cruised to his first-ever Allstar Performance IMCA Modified feature win on Outdoor Adventures Night at Tri-City Motor Speedway. With other venues canceling earlier in the afternoon, the field was again bolstered with 29 drivers hoping to find their way to victory lane. Brody Bowser and Don Sautter battled during the first seven laps of the 20-lap feature. Sautter had the field covered until he lost power in turn four, ending his night with a premature exit and what proved to be a 19th place finish. Former track champion Myron DeYoung inherited the lead. He had his hands full during the second half of the race as Matt Szecsodi and Pray pressured him through every corner. On lap 17, Pray used the high line coming out of turn two and cleared DeYoung for the lead. From there, Pray motored to his first ever feature victory. Brekken Kleinschmidt paced the opening laps of the IMCA Modified headliner until Mark Schuenemann raced by on lap four. A series of cautions before midway kept the field bunched up. Tyler Wilson used this to his advantage, snagging the lead down low on lap 10. Whitman worked through the field to the runner-up position after starting in row six. Wilson and Whitman worked the low groove until Wilson left the door open just enough to allow Whitman to sneak by for the lead. (May 25-26) – Chaz Baca got his first win of the season on opening night while Zachary Madrid’s victory on night two of the John Morris Classic at Arizona Speedway got him on the ballot for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Baca led start to finish in the Saturday feature, starting third and pulling away from the rest of the IMCA Modified field after a pair of late cautions. Making the most of the fast top line, he took the checkers ahead of Tyler Mecl and Madrid.
