Porter parks in victory lane at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 8) – Chad Porter put his no. 12 MN 93 IMCA Modified in victory lane at Ar­lington Raceway for the first time since May 13 of 2017 Saturday night.

Porter took the lead on the first lap after a caution that moved him up a row on the restart. When the green flag came back out, he passed three cars going into the first turn to take the lead.

He remained the leader for the rest of the race with Trent Loverude directly behind him taking second ahead of Clint Hatlestad.

Javen Ostermann won his first Alpha Media IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature, leading the en­tire caution-free race from start to finish. The Coors Light IMCA Sport Compact feature also went flag to flag, with Levi Selly leading over half of the race before Alex Dostal took the outside lane and got by him with two laps left to take the lead and win.

Matt Schauer was the B&B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car winner and Cory Probst collected the Eckblad Trucking IMCA Hobby Stock checkers. 

There were four different leaders in the Unhinged Pizza IMCA Sport Modified feature with Bran­don Opsahl the first lap leader. After an early restart, Jeff Carter took the lead with Eric Larson on his tail. 

By lap five, Larson got around him but cautions helped Kevin Kirt move up from his ninth place starting spot and take over the top spot. Zach Davis followed Larson to the checkered flag for third.

IMCA features go 3-4-5 wide at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 5, 2023) – The Sibley County Fair races provided three- and four- and even five-wide racing throughout the night in all divisions for the fans to enjoy Saturday at Arlington Raceway. The first feature saw Ben Davis lead the first four laps of the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock main but coming out of turn four he lost control of his car and allowed Cory Probst to take the lead from his 10th place start. Davis and Taylor Manderfield then had a good battle but Davis slid up and Manderfield was able to gain a position. On the next lap, Dan Probst was able to glide by both of those cars to take second behind son Cory. In the end, Cory Probst wins another feature with his dad taking second and Manderfield third. The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts saw five-wide racing for the first lap until the field spread out and then again after a restart. IMCA Stock Car payday is $1,500 at Arlington Shootout special 

ARLINGTON, Minn. – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars bat­tle it out for $1,500 to win at Arlington Raceway’s Wednesday, Aug. 2 Sibley County Stock Car Shootout. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods run for $750 to win and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for a $400 top check that evening. MCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, re­gional, Allstar Performance State and local track points will be awarded at the draw/redraw show. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. Racing starts at 7 p.m. Grand­stand admission is $15 and pit passes are $30. Johnson sprints to Arlington checkers

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 11, 2022) – Saturday’s IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature at Arlington Raceway went flag to flag with Bill Johnson leading from his pole position and finding himself the winner after having motor troubles the first night of the season which sidelined him for a few weeks.  Mike Stien, who started ninth, moved through the field and took second ahead of Brandon Buysse.  Cory Probst is on a mission this year as he has won every IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature thus far at Arlington. He started 10th and by lap three he was in third. Scott Porter had the early lead but later drove into the pit with troubles.  Probst and Cory Black then battled for the lead and a caution came out when the 16R spun out. That gave Probst the opportunity he was looking for as he got by Black on the restart and never looked back, going on to win the race.
