Anderson takes tall trophy, big check from Hancock County’s IMCA SportMod Nationals

BRITT, Iowa (June 13, 2022) – Logan Anderson has a tall trophy and a big check to show for his first-ever visit to Hancock County Speedway. Anderson took over the front spot following a lap nine restart, then ran away from the field in winning the 30-lap Landus Cooperative IMCA SportMod Nationals and $2,500 Monday night at Britt. The last 15 laps of the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod main event stayed green. Tenth starting and defending race winner Matt Looft was second and Josh Appel ended in third. “It’s exciting to go to a new track. It’s cool, especially when it’s $2,500 and you win,” Anderson said after finding room in the trailer for that trophy for the 2-1/2 hour tow home to Eddyville. “I didn’t hot lap before I started on the pole and won the first heat. Weekly racing, Benton County Fair highlight busy week at The Bullring

VINTON, Iowa (June 14, 2022) – A full schedule is in store for race fans at Benton County Speedway. Weekly racing on Sunday, plus opening night of the Benton County Fair Thursday will offer a double-dose of oval track action. Prior to Benton County Fair festivities, IMCA weekly racing will continue on Father’s Day Sunday, June 19. Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds presented by KISS Country 96.5, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars presented by Vermedahl Logistics, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods presented by Christie Door Company, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts, and INEX Legends presented by Legends.Direct will all be back in action Sunday. Weekly racing will also kick off grandstand entertainment for the Benton County Fair Thursday, June 23. Johnson sprints to Arlington checkers

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 11, 2022) – Saturday’s IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature at Arlington Raceway went flag to flag with Bill Johnson leading from his pole position and finding himself the winner after having motor troubles the first night of the season which sidelined him for a few weeks. Mike Stien, who started ninth, moved through the field and took second ahead of Brandon Buysse. Cory Probst is on a mission this year as he has won every IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature thus far at Arlington. He started 10th and by lap three he was in third. Scott Porter had the early lead but later drove into the pit with troubles. Probst and Cory Black then battled for the lead and a caution came out when the 16R spun out. 33rd IMCA Dakota Classic Tour primed for July 9-14 run

MANDAN, N.D. (June 13, 2022) – The 33rd annual Corral Sales IMCA Dakota Classic Modified Tour powered by Industrial Electric has made a few changes to its format but the core mission of the Tour, to bring the best from IMCA to North Dakota each July, remains the same. Grant Oskvig will be the new tour flagman and IMCA.TV will be live streaming all six nights of the tour. All tracks have agreed to start at 7 p.m. for the first time and once again, IMCA rules will be used at all tracks in both the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car divisions. The series starts its six-night consecutive run on Saturday, July 9 at the quarter-mile, high-banked Jamestown Speedway. Elston, Zogg top IMCA Drive For 5 features at Lee County

By Brian Neal DONNELLSON, Iowa (June 10, 2022) – Lee County Speedway got the best of Mother Nature and Tommy Elston and Chris Zogg got the best of their round two Drive For 5 foes Friday at Lee County Speedway. Elston pocketed $1,000 for his Iowa Corn Growers Association IMCA Sunoco Late Model victory, while Friesen Performance IMCA Modified winner Zogg took home a grand and became eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Denny Woodworth and C.J. Horn drew the front row for the Late Model headliner. Just when Woodworth started to put some distance on the battles going on behind him, the first and only caution of the race appeared on lap five. Sites dominates in NY-Penn Series show at The Hill

In February, his race shop burned down, leaving little for he and his brother, Brad, to start the season with. He kicked off the Close Racing Supply NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series presented by Precision Hydraulic & Oil season at Skyline Raceway Motorsports Park with a victory, then followed that up with a DNF at Penn Can Speedway after a parts failure. But on Friday, June 10, Sites found himself back in the winner’s circle at The Hill Speedway. A season-high 18 Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds signed in to do battle and the redraw set Ray McClure and Bill Nichols on the front row. Vanover holds off Woken for IMCA Stock Car Crown triumph at Dawson County

By Anthony Ainslie LEXINGTON, Neb. (June 12, 2022) – Kyle Vanover became the latest winner on the inaugural IMCA Sunoco Stock Car Crown Summer Series after the tour headed out west. The third round for the series made the Sunday trip to the Sandhills where Lexington, Neb.’s Dawson County Raceway played host. A stout field of 40 stock cars from Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas packed the pit area with the track’s four other IMCA weekly racing classes also in action. The $2,000 to win main event saw Robert Leonard lead the 21-car field down to the green flag. His lead was short lived as Kyle Vanover jumped from his outside front row starting spot to lead. Denning, Ellithorpe, score repeat wins at Maquoketa

By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (June 11, 2022) – The Maquoketa Speedway dodged the predicted wet weather on Saturday night and held a fast, action-packed night of racing on the very smooth, fast ¼-mile dirt oval. The headliner of the night was the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature that went 20 laps caution-free. Travis Denning was able to get past early leader Spencer Diercks and move into the lead just before lap 10 and went on to record his third win at the Maquoketa Speedway in 2022. Diercks held off the 2021 track champion Jeff Larson at the checkers. Jacob Ellithorpe had his IMCA Sunoco Stock Car back in fine form on Saturday night. Chipp races to IMCA Modified checkers at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa (June 12, 2022) – Brennen Chipp took the lead early and then powered away following a late restart to score his first win of the season Sunday at Benton County Speedway. From his outside front row start, Chipp led the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds presented by KISS Country 96.5 to the green flag. He built a 1.5 second advantage by the time Troy Cordes made his way to second from the third row. Just as the lead pair entered lapped traffic and Cordes cut into the lead, caution slowed action late in the 20-lapper. Chipp pulled away when racing resumed to pick up his first win at The Bullring since 2017. Cordes chased Chipp to the checkers, followed by Joel Rust and Ryan Maitland. Winners take the long way to get to victory lane at Off Road

(June 11, 2022) – Familiar names once again found their way into victory lane during Saturday night’s regular slate of races at Off Road Speedway, but had to take the long way to get there. Cameron and Jason Wilkinson secured feature wins in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock divisions, respectively, while Cory Dumpert earned another IMCA Sunoco Late Model victory. The odd man out was Tyler Afrank who, after finishing among the top five just once this season, won an main event for the first time at Off Road Speedway in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod division. Afrank, starting on the outside of the front row, grabbed the lead immediately and stayed there all 15 laps while Jonathan Jensen and James Roebuck battled for second place behind him.
