Mod Lites of Arkansas racing for $2,000 at inaugural Mid-South Nationals

WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. – The Mod Lites of Arkansas make their return to Riverside International Speedway this Saturday, June 5 for the fourth annual Mini Mod Challenge presented by Rays Automotive. One of the crown jewel events for IMCA STARS Mod Lites, the Mini Mod Challenge pays $500 to win. Four heat race winners and the top four in passing points will run a pole dash, then the front row starters will be offered the challenge of starting at the tail and racing for $1,000 to win. The challenge has been accepted and several drivers have come close, but not won from the tail. A great car count is expected for the Saturday show. Pit passes are $30, entry fee is $15 and transponders are $10.  Spectator admission is $12 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-11 and free for five and under. Gates open at 5 p.m., hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing is at 7 p.m. 

VIVIAN, La. (Feb. 7, 2023) – The Mod Lites of Arkansas and North Texas Mod Lites come together for a two-day event at Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, La., Feb. 24-25. The Caddo Parish Shakedown marks the first time two IMCA STARS Mod Lite series have co-sanctioned an event. The Friday winner earns $500 while Saturday’s winner takes home $1,000. HARRISBURG, Ark. (June 19) – Dillon Raffurty of Kansas City, Mo., continued his winning streak in IMCA STARS Mod Lite competition as he topped the 34-car field at Old No. 1 Speedway in Harrisburg Saturday night. Raffurty took the point from early leader Blake Wilson and never looked back in the 25-lap Mod Lites of Arkansas feature, which saw only one caution. He was rewarded with $500 for his efforts after winning the previous night at Marshalltown Speedway in Iowa. Wilson went on to finish second, Bryce Vowan was third, while Gage Raines and Robert Caleb McCollett rounded out the top five. Jeromy Wilson was the hard charger as he passed nine cars on his way to an 11th place finish after recovering from an early night flip in heat race action. The Mod Lites of Arkansas will return to action on July 10 at I-30 Speedway for a regular night of racing.
