IMCA Wild West Modified Shootout set for June 21-29

By Ben Deatherage YREKA, Calif. – The ninth annual IMCA Wild West Modified Shootout is ready to get started with eight $1,000 to win features on the series schedule. Teams from Oregon, Washington, California, North Dakota, British Columbia, and beyond are expected to make the journey. The Speedweek extravaganza ventures to some of the best racing facili­ties in California and Oregon. All features are qualifying events for the 2019 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot and pay a minimum of $100 to start. The party gets started on Friday, June 21 at Siskiyou Motor Speedway in Yreka, Calif., for the only date in the Golden State.  Saturday, June 22 will have the tour make the short jump over the border to Southern Oregon Speedway in White City. Murray County Speedway hosts Friday Sprint Series of Minnesota show

SLAYTON, Minn. – Murray County Speedway rolls out the red carpet for the first of three visits this season by the Sprint Series of Minnesota on Friday, June 14.  IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars vie for $500 to win and a minimum of $150 to start. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, E3 Spark Plugs State and special series points will be awarded; there is no entry fee.  Miller Sellner Case IH is sponsor for the evening’s program, which also features IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts.  Pit gates open at 5:30 p.m., the grandstand opens at 6 p.m. and hot laps are at 7:15 p.m., with racing to follow. Spectator admission is $12 for adults, $8 for students ages 11-17 and free for 10 and under. United Rebel Sprint Series primed for Dodge City Raceway Park 305 Nationals

By David Smith, Jr./OKTidbits  DODGE CITY, Kan. – It’s time for a huge three nights of racing action beginning this Thursday night for the POWRi Lucas Oil United Rebel Sprint Series as they once again partake in the third annual Lubbock Wrecker DCRP 305 Sprint Car Nationals at Dodge City Raceway Park.   Set for a $3,000-to-win event that could potentially climb to as much as $4,500 with lap money included is set for this Thursday through Saturday night, June 13-15, atop the 3/8-mile clay oval in southwest Kansas.  Joining the Rebels for this huge event will be the Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars as well as the Sprint Series of Oklahoma presented by Smiley’s Racing Products.   Sprint car veteran Kevin Ramey of Fort Worth, Texas, took home the victory in the inaugural version of the DCRP 305 Sprint Car Nationals back in 2017, while Fairview, Okla.’s Jake Martens pocketed $4,040 including lap money by fending off a last-lap slider from Jake Bubak and then beating Chad Koch to the stripe in last year’s championship feature finale.   Martens has already [Read More]

IMCA Modified crown jewel Clash at the Creek is June 19-20 at 141

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. – Ten thousand dollars is the top prize at 141 Speedway’s June 19 and 20 Clash at the Creek special for IMCA Modifieds. Both the purse and the quality of competition have made the Clash one of the crown jewels for IMCA Modifieds and the 11th annual event is sure to be one of the best. Ken Schrader returns to the field for the rich Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier, which will pay a minimum of $750 to start.  IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods race for $1,000 to win both nights at Francis Creek.  IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central Region and EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region, and E3 Spark Plugs Wisconsin State points will be awarded.  Pre-tech starts at noon and an open practice session runs from 6-9 p.m. on Tues­day, June 18. Admission free Saturday at Perris for kids in Little League, Scout uniforms

PERRIS, Calif. – All kids wearing little league or scout uniforms will be admitted free to this Saturday’s event at Perris Auto Speedway.   As soon as the last preliminary race is over, drivers will bring their cars onto the front straightaway and all kids, whether they are wearing a uniform or not, will be allowed onto the track to collect candy, get autographs and take photos.  At the end of intermission, all the kids will go back into the stands to watch the main events. “The kids always have a great time at the races,” promoter Don Kazarian said.  “Especially on nights like this when they get to go on the track at intermission, meet all of the drivers and collect some candy as well.  We hope to see a lot of them get in for free by wearing their Boy Scout, Girl Scout, Cub Scout, Brownie or Little League uniform.  Bring the troop, team, or whole neighborhood.  The more the merrier and the more the fun.”  IMCA Modifieds make their third appearance of the season at Perris. IMCA Stock Car winner earns $2,500 at Stuart Speedway’s Dirt Duel

STUART, Iowa – The winner of Stuart Speedway’s Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel will go home with a $2,500 check. Qualifying starts on Tuesday, June 11 with a minimum of $300 paid to start the Wednesday, June 12 main event. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region and E3 Spark Plugs Iowa State points will be awarded. Presented by Sniper Speed and Midstate Machine, the Dirt Duel will be broadcast by IMCA.TV. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods also qualify Tuesday for Wednesday features while Mach-1 Sport Compacts race on opening night and IMCA Modifieds on night two. National, regional, state and track points will be awarded in each of those divisions. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. both days. Modified Madness at US 36 rescheduled for June 21

By Jacob Blair  OSBORN, Mo. – Similarly to most other tracks in the region, US 36 Raceway has been forced to cancel events regularly during the 2019 season. Due to the rainouts, US 36 Raceway officials have made some minor adjustments to the schedule along with rescheduling Modified Madness to June 21.  This Friday, June 7 will remain the same as all weekly classes will tackle the high banks on West­fall GMC Night at the Races. The IMCA Modifieds will race for $1,000 to win in a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying event. It is also CARB Night, Cletus Murray Remembrance Night and Kids Night.  The first adjustment to the schedule comes on June 14 with the Bud Shootout. The Sprint Series of Nebraska headlines the event and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars are also racing. $1,100 to win special awaits United Rebel Sprint Series this Saturday

By David Smith, Jr., OKTidbits  CALHAN, Colo. – The only trip into the state of Colorado takes place this coming Saturday night as the POWRi Lucas Oil United Rebel Sprint Series presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing makes its annual appearance at El Paso County Speedway in Calhan.   Rain has washed out three events thus far this season while Luke Cranston (two), Jake Martens and Jason Martin having taken home victories this 2019 race season.  Courtesy of Kevin Schramek, Schramek Landscaping is adding $500 to the purse with the extra $100 going to positions 1-5, making this a $1,100-to-win event.   Twenty-two previous events have been held at El Paso County Speedway with Brian Hardman and Adam Trimble having won here four times. Big Sky, Sheridan host IMCA Gunslinger Tour dates

BILLINGS, Mont. – Four dates and a pair of Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying events comprise the upcoming Gunslinger Tour. IMCA Modifieds race for $600 to win on Friday, June 7 and for $1,000 to win on Saturday, June 8 at Big Sky Speedway in Billings, Mont.; and for $600 to win on Sunday, June 9 and for $1,000 to win on Monday, June 10 at Wyoming’s Sheridan Speedway.  Top driver in points for the four shows now earns an additional $1,000 plus a championship belt. Second place gets $750, third place gets $500, fourth place gets $400 and fifth in points is good for $300.  In addition to tour points, IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Race Cars Western Region, E3 Spark Plugs State and track points will be awarded. Merced Speedway preps for June 15 Ed Parker Memorial

MERCED, Calif. – IMCA Modifieds race for $1,700 to win, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods for $1,000 to win at Merced Speedway’s Saturday, June 15 Ed Parker Memorial. A Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth is at stake for the Modifieds, who race for a minimum of $100 to start. SportMods taking the feature green earn a minimum of $60.  IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, E3 Spark Plugs State and track points will be awarded in both divisions. Modifieds also contend for Larry Shaw Race Cars Western Region points. There is no entry fee for the draw/redraw show. Pit gates open at 2 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 5:45 p.m. with racing to follow. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and military, $5 for students ages six to 12 and free for five and under. Pit passes are $40.
