United Rebel Sprint Series primed for Dodge City Raceway Park 305 Nationals

DODGE CITY, Kan. – It’s time for a huge three nights of racing action beginning this Thursday night for the POWRi Lucas Oil United Rebel Sprint Series as they once again partake in the third annual Lubbock Wrecker DCRP 305 Sprint Car Nationals at Dodge City Raceway Park.  

Set for a $3,000-to-win event that could potentially climb to as much as $4,500 with lap money included is set for this Thursday through Saturday night, June 13-15, atop the 3/8-mile clay oval in southwest Kansas. 

Joining the Rebels for this huge event will be the Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars as well as the Sprint Series of Oklahoma presented by Smiley’s Racing Products.  

Sprint car veteran Kevin Ramey of Fort Worth, Texas, took home the victory in the inaugural version of the DCRP 305 Sprint Car Nationals back in 2017, while Fairview, Okla.’s Jake Martens pocketed $4,040 including lap money by fending off a last-lap slider from Jake Bubak and then beating Chad Koch to the stripe in last year’s championship feature finale.  

Martens has already picked up one URSS victory thus far this season while track regular Luke Cranston has won two events, both at Dodge City. Also picking up series victories this season are Jason Martin and two-time and defending tour champion Zach Blurton.   

This year’s event fires off with the first of two preliminary events on Thursday, June 13, with a second round of preliminary action on Friday before culminating with Saturday’s championship finale. 

Each night of racing will fire off at 7:30 p.m. 

Tickets to the Thursday and Friday preliminary events are $12 for each night with Saturday’s finale $20 while children eleven and under are free each night. Pit passes are $30 for each night.

Williams wins night one at Wheatshocker Nationals

HAYS, Kan. (July 11) – The United Rebel Sprint Series Presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Rac­ing took on night one of the Wheatshocker Nationals at RPM Speedway Saturday night. A stacked 20-car field was in attendance and Ty Williams was the front-runner.   Shane Sundquist and J.D. Johnson lined up on the front row of the 25-lap IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature. Shane Sundquist took off with the early lead, but not without Koby Walters eager to grab the top position.  Walters took the top spot and Ty Williams was next to challenge Sundquist for second place. A rim-riding Williams and Walters battled for the lead until lap 15 when Williams claimed the top spot. Walters hung on to the second position until the last lap when hard-charger Jason Martin nipped him at the line to take the runner-up position with Walters settling for third.   Feature results – 1. IMCA SportMod Mayhem is Saturday at Dodge City

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. – Mayhem and a potential big cash giveaway to a lucky fan along with numerous other giveaways are on tap for Saturday night as racing action kicks back into high gear atop the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval in southwest Kansas. The Aug. 24 card is headlined by the popular sixth annual IMCA SportMod Mayhem event with the IMCA SportMods battling it out for a $1,000 winner’s share. Richardson is best in URSS opener at Bullring Nationals

LaCROSSE, Kan. (July 25) – The POWRi United Rebel Sprint Series Presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing took to the Bullring at Rush County Speedway and Steven Richardson maneuvered a last lap pass to claim the night one Bullring Nationals feature win.  Zach Blurton and Jordan Knight set the pace for the 25-lap feature event for the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars. Blurton took off with the early lead. Koby Walters and Jordan Knight fell in behind the race leader. Blurton finessed lapped traffic on lap seven, separating some distance between himself and the runner-up.   A late race caution saw the field bunched back up. Some confusion on the restart called for mass chaos for front-runners Blurton and Walters. Both took off for the restart but the waving of the green had not yet occurred.
