Dominick Bruns Memorial Challenge Cup Chase dates set

DANUBE, Minn. – The Dominick Bruns Memorial Challenge Cup Chase for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars boasts a trio of $1,000 to win features at as many different Minnesota speedplants. Features on Saturday, June 7 at Jackson Speedway, Friday, July 18 at Murray County Speedway and Sunday, Aug. 10 at Redwood Speedway all pay a minimum of $100 to start. The top driver in point standings for the three nights earns a $1,000 share of the $2,000 series point fund and becomes eligible to qualify for the Sunoco Race Fuels Race of Champions during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. The runner-up in points earns $600 and third place in the standings is good for $400. IMCA driver Shaun Bruns and his wife Becky founded the Dominick Bruns Memorial Foundation in 2008 after losing their son to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Iturriaga Memorial is May 30, 31 at Battle Mountain

BATTLE MOUNTAIN, Nev. – A pair of $1,000 to win features for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds are on the program for Battle Mountain Raceway’s inaugural Iturriaga NAPA Memorial Race Friday and Saturday, May 30-31. Both races are Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying events and the first races in the first annual I-80 Challenge Series. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Racing Western Region, Allstar Performance State, special series and local track points will be awarded. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and optional hot laps begin at 5:30 p.m. both days. All drivers must check in at the pit window by 7 p.m.; racing follows the 7:15 p.m. drivers’ meeting. Grandstand admission is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and students, and free for kids five and under when accompanying a paying adult or senior. Final Lone Star Series checkers fly at Texas Nationals

WACO, Texas – IMCA Lone Star Series shows on Friday and Saturday, July 4 and 5 at Heart O’ Texas Speedway do double duty as the Texas Nationals. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks all see holiday weekend action at Waco. Both Modified features will pay $1,000 to win and are qualifiers for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. SportMod features pay $750 to win, Stock Car features pay $600 and Hobby Stock features $400. Along with the biggest share of the respective purses, Modified and Stock Car series champions earn bonus points applicable toward national and regional point standings. BILLINGS, Mont. – The inaugural Modified Mayhem at Billings Motorsports Park boasts a $2,500 top prize. The Saturday, May 31 special for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds pays a minimum of $100 to start, is sponsored by Sorenson Racing of Billings and is a qualifying event for the 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Racing Western or Belleville Motorsports North Central regional, Allstar Performance State and local track points will be awarded. Non-qualifiers taking at least one green flag during the evening get $50 tow money. There is no entry fee; pit passes are $25. EAST MOLINE, Ill. – First place in the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified feature pays $1,000 at Quad City Speedway’s Sunday, May 25 Gary Reinhart Memorial. The 21st annual special is a 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier and pays a minimum of $150 to start. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Belleville Motorsports North Central Region and Allstar Performance State, but no local track points will be awarded for the draw/redraw show. CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Friesen Chevrolet Empire State Series returns to one of its favorite venues for a Sunday, May 25 show. Skyline Raceway has hosted touring IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds on 13 previous occasions. 20th annual Garst Memorial is Saturday at Thunder Hill

MAYETTA, Kan. – Thunder Hill Speedway is preparing for Saturday night, May 24, when the 20th annual Don Garst Memorial Race is held at the Clash on the Hill. The Garst Memorial is Thunder Hill’s longest running special event, held in memory of the track’s first-ever flagman. The memorial race is one of the ways Don is remembered by the Garst family, and helps keep Don’s memory alive as one of the best short-track flagmen in the Midwest. In previous years, the Garst family has given Modified drivers a chance at a much larger win.
