ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (May 28) – The second doubleheader of the 2014 EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Tour takes traveling IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds to Sweetwater Speedway this weekend.
Both Friday, May 30 and Saturday, May 31 features pay $1,000 to win with spots on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot at stake as well.
Pit gates at Rock Springs open at 3 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. both days. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m.
Grandstand admission is $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and kids. Pit passes are $25.
IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Racing Western Region, Allstar Performance State, special series and local track points will be awarded. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, street stocks and cruisers complete the Friday and Saturday cards.
Rigby, Idaho’s Jake Donnelly and Justen Yeager of Green River split feature wins when the Wild West Tour opened earlier this month at Millard County Raceway. Yeager, a three-time series champion, leads Donnelly by one point and Michael Hale of West Jordan, Utah, by two points heading into the weekend.
Ricky Alvarado of Delta, Colo., was the winner of four of the 13 previous tour events held at Rock Springs. Yeager and Ryan Cotrell of Las Vegas, Nev., have each won twice there.
