Winebarger Scores First Win of Season in IMCA Wild West Speedweek Opener at Banks

(June 13, 2026) — Two-time IMCA Wild West Speedweek champion Collen Winebarger used a late restart to capture the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature and open the 2026 tour at Sunset Speedway Park with his 14th career series victory. Jeff Lovell led the opening lap and quickly established a comfortable advantage. The leader encountered lapped traffic on lap eight but continued to maintain a strong pace as the race remained under green. A caution on lap 15 brought the field back together and allowed Winebarger, aboard the John Gaynor-owned No. 99X, to begin mounting a serious challenge. Another caution on lap 19 proved pivotal, as the Corbett driver maneuvered into the lead down the backstretch on lap 20. Maynard Collects First Career NY-Penn Series Victory

(June 12, 2026) — Jake Maynard raced from seventh on the starting grid to capture his first career Close Racing Supply NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series feature victory Friday night at The Hill Speedway. Mike Wilcox and Shawn Bruce led the field to green for the 25-lap feature. As the race unfolded, Maynard steadily worked his way through the field and into contention. The Wyalusing driver eventually took command and proved to be the class of the field over the closing stages, securing his first career NY-Penn Series triumph. The victory was Maynard’s third of the season in Close Racing Supply Eastern Region competition. Benjamin capped off a strong evening by finishing second after starting fourth and leading much of the feature. DeCarlo Charges from Eighth for First Watsonville Win of 2026

(June 12, 2026) — The Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified main event at Watsonville Speedway saw multiple different leaders while putting on a solid show in its shortened 20-lap feature. Jonathan Hagio took the early command, but it was short-lived as Robert Marsh blasted to the point on lap four. A lengthy red flag period to clean up a crash in turn two forced officials to trim the race from 25 laps to 20 with curfew looming. Jim Pettit II looked extremely fast and took over the lead on lap nine. Starting eighth, however, “Quick Nick” DeCarlo methodically worked his way forward before assuming command with 14 laps complete. Once out front, DeCarlo was never seriously challenged and raced away to score his first DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region victory of the season and first Watsonville Speedway triumph of 2026. Jake Dimond Memorial Pays $5,000 to Win June 19 at Black Hills Speedway

(June 11, 2026) — One of the richest Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified events in the region comes to Black Hills Speedway on Friday, June 19, as the inaugural Jake Dimond Memorial takes center stage with a $5,000 winner’s share awaiting the victor. The special event will feature a 30-lap Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified main event paying $5,000 to win and $2,250 for second. Third place pays $1,500, fourth receives $1,000, and fifth earns $750. Manning Charges From Seventh for First Santa Maria Win of 2026

By Stephanie Odom SANTA MARIA, Calif. (June 6, 2026) — Tyler Bannister appeared poised to continue his dominance in Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified competition Saturday night at Santa Maria Speedway. The Bakersfield driver entered the evening a perfect two-for-two at the Central Coast facility in 2026 and added another heat race victory to his résumé. Brandon Jennings also earned a heat race win earlier in the evening. Jennings and Rob Sanders led the field to green for the 25-lap feature, with Jennings quickly establishing himself at the front while fending off intense pressure from Sanders during the opening circuits. Starting seventh, fellow Bakersfield racer Gavyn Manning methodically worked his way through the field and into contention. The Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods will headline the evening with a lucrative $1,000-to-win feature. An additional $100 bonus will be awarded to the winner if 24 SportMods are entered, pushing the top prize to $1,100.
