Logue, Olson take leads late in SportMod qualifiers

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 3) – Johnathon Logue led maybe two inches at the finish. Kyle Olson led the final two laps. Both raced to Northern SportMod qualifying feature victories Tuesday night at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. 2014 champion Logue reeled in, then beat long-time race leader Bo Partain to the checkers by all of 13 thousandth’s of a second to capture the first qualifier at Boone Speedway.  Casa Grande, Ariz. speedster Partain had led five of the first six circuits and laps 11-24 before Logue eked by at the stripe on his hometown oval.  The top eight finishers from that race advance to the middle row of Saturday’s main event, with Austen Becerra of Carthage, Ill., Colby Fett of Algona, 2016 champion Doug Smith of Lake City, Jake Hagemann of Fort Ripley, Minn., Jason Bass of Fort Dodge and 22nd starting Tyler Inman of Altoona chasing the front pair to the checkers.  Olson, from Cedar Rapids, drew the pole start but it was outside row one starter Kyle Bentley who set [Read More]

Nelson aces Tuesday Hobby Stock qualifier

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 3) – A long run at the front in his Tuesday night qualifier put Dylan Nelson on the front row for Saturday’s Hobby Stock main event at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. The Adel speedster caught Tim Gonska for the point on the third circuit and weathered a handful of restarts before taking the checkers at the end of the 25-lapper at Boone Speedway. The last 11 laps ran caution-free. BOONE, Iowa – He’s already got six feature wins and a track championship on his 2019 resume. Brenten DeYoung returns to the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s look­ing for new accomplishments. DeYoung topped IMCA Modified track point standings at I-96 Speedway and sits in second at hometown Crystal Motor Speedway. He also comes to Boone Speedway with the slightest of ad­vantages over friendly foe Mitchell Hunt in the race for the Dirt Works Eastern Region prize. “I love racing here. Much to see, enjoy in Fan Zone during week of Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – There’s much to see and plenty to enjoy at the Fan Zone through­out the week of the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.  Nu­merous events will be held at the Fan Zone, located south of the main grandstands, each day of America’s Racin’ Vacation Sept. 2-7.  The Casey’s General Store redraw for starts in the front six rows of the Deery Brothers Summer Series main event will be held at approximately 7 p.m. on Monday. Monday’s Hobby Stock and Northern SportMod qualifying feature winners sign autographs at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
