ANTIOCH, Calif. (July 18, 2026) — Jake Archibald of Oakley collected his first career Antioch Speedway Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature victory Saturday night, leading all 20 laps.
Archibald, who also won his eight-lap heat race, led Blaze Hill across the opening lap before the first of only two cautions waved for Scott Foster, who spun in turn four.
Archibald maintained the lead on the restart as Jason Robles of Rio Vista moved into second ahead of Clarence Holbrook III of Galt. Dave Hill of San Francisco used the low groove in turn four on lap four to take third.
By lap 10, Archibald had stretched his advantage to nearly half a straightaway over Jason Robles before the final caution waved on lap 12 for Blaze Hill. Dave Hill headed to the pits during the stoppage, leaving Archibald to lead Jason Robles and Kenneth Robles back to green.
Archibald was never challenged over the closing laps, collecting his first EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region victory of the season.
Jason Robles finished second, Kenneth Robles took third, point leader Fred Ryland advanced to fourth, and Holbrook completed the top five.
Wagner Rallies for Late SportMod Triumph
Danny Wagner rebounded from an early spin to score his second Antioch Speedway victory of the season in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods.
Mark Garner paced the opening laps after starting on the front row ahead of Jason Ryan Jr. and Al Johnson. Wagner moved into third following a lap-two restart but spun in turn four on lap three. Fortunately for Wagner, he kept rolling, and the race stayed green.
Trevor Clymens charged into contention, taking third on lap five before a lap-seven caution for Kyle Moore slowed the action. Point leader Fred Ryland headed to the pits during the yellow.
Garner continued to lead until lap nine when a broken rear end slowed him on the frontstretch, handing the lead to Clymens. Ryan and Trent Golden followed in pursuit as the race resumed.
Golden moved into second before Wagner charged back into the picture, taking second from Golden with a low move in turn two on lap 13. Wagner then tracked down Clymens over the closing laps, making the winning pass on the inside of turn two coming to the white flag and completing the sweep on the final circuit.
The Watsonville point leader earned his fourth Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod victory of the season, with half of those wins coming at the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds oval.
Clymens settled for second, Ryan finished third, Golden crossed the line fourth, and Johnson completed the top five.
